eSteem - Android update 1.2.0

Android v1.2.0 update been pushed to Google Play and should be available in few hours.

What's new in this version

• Save For Later Posting

This feature allows users to save their post for later submission, especially when you have long post you can just "save" and come back to continue your writing.

• Action in middle

Earlier @blakemiles84 made post about ability to vote or comment while reading long posts or comments. This is particularly useful feature for mobile users, so initial action in middle is implemented on this version.

• Notifications improved

Now if you are already surfing or reading, using app you won't be bothered by notifications, it will just show as toast message bottom of screen. But if app is in background you will still receive notifications.

• Search feature is refined for better user experience.

Interesting Facts or Stats

Since the last update for Android, number of users using app is 750+ and increasing daily. 500 of them already using Push Notification feature, which means they have upgraded app version to the latest.

How do you handle images? One thing I hate about SteemIt on Chrome is the pictures eat up my 4G limit. Ability to stripoff images or downscaling would be great for me, but might be hard to code. I only mention bc others have mentioned how much data SteemIt is using up.

For posts page we have Compact and Card view modes, that should give you some bandwidth saving because Compact mode doesn't load images. But images inside post is loaded normally. I will see what more can be achieved to save mobile data.

It is probably available now, but usually it takes 1-2 hours.

You can search for category from right top menu and it opens posts with that category. You can reset or clear from same menu.
