The horn beetle that you see in the picture that I uploaded on this blog is one of my friend's beetles, who has been with him for the past two months.
This friend of mine collects various types of insects that I have never seen so far. This horn beetle is one of the species found in Indonesian territory.
Actually, this beetle's house is not the flower you see in the picture, but it has an artificial nest designed specifically for it. Then I put it on the flower to make it look beautiful when in the photo.
According to my friend's statement, this horn beetle is one of the animals that is active at night when during the day he hides under a tree trunk or under rocks, this situation is done only to avoid the attacks of predators that often hunt him, so if during the day look for him rather complicated to find because they have to dismantle large wood and rocks that are embedded in the ground.
Then he continued his statement that the beetle I took and photographed was a male beetle horn beetle. In terms of knowing the sex it is very easy to find out because only the horn beetle has horns while the female beetle does not have it.
Then another thing in distinguishing their sex by looking at the body shape of the beetle itself, because the size of the male body is bigger than the female beetle.

According to various references conveyed by experts each beetle has great strength the reason is said that he is able to lift his weight up to 850 times, one opinion says even more. But I myself do not understand it in that regard, the words I quote from the explanations of the insect experts.

The beetle's horn itself is made as a weapon for them when fighting a fellow male beetle, this is often done to seize the female, if there is defeat then the male beetle that wins will get a partner.
Honestly, I am also interested and want to have it because of the very unique and beautiful body shape, but to get it is rather difficult as mentioned above.
But if you look for it, of course you will get it by breaking down fallen wooden trees or stones that have long been embedded in the ground. Sometimes he also builds nests in someone's wooden house but is rather difficult to reach because the nest is on a pole on a narrow roof.
