Lion Purchases 50 Boeing Aircraft at Rp 84 Trillion

Lion Air Group re-widened by purchasing 50 Boeing 737 Max 10 aircraft which is the latest generation in the aviation industry. In order to get 50 aircraft this Lion spend US $ 6.24 billion or about Rp 84.2 trillion (US $ 1 = Rp 13,500).

The signing of the purchase was made by President and CEO of Lion Air Group Edward Sirait with Senior Vice President of Asia Pasicif & India Sales Boeing Commercial Airplanes, Dinesh Keskar at Hotel Grand Hyatt, Central Jakarta. Also witnessed Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi and Founder Lion Air Group Rusdi Kirana.

Edward said the purchase of 50 boeing 737 Max 10 is already planned since the Paris Air Show 2017. This latest generation aircraft became the single most efficient single jet (single aisle) in the aviation industry.

"This aircraft provides more benefits because it has a high level of efficiency in terms of fuel, operating costs, and is in accordance with the development of increasingly sophisticated fleet," said Edward, Jakarta, Tuesday (10/4/2018).

Boieng 737 Max 10 completes the Max 8, Max 9 fleet already operated by Lion Air Group.

"This is in line with business expansion and commitment in providing services with the highest priority of convenience for customers during air travel, especially in Southeast Asia," he said.

Senior Vice President of Asia Pasicif & India Sales Boeing Commercial Airplanes, Dinesh Keskar says Boeing 737 Max 10 has a capacity of 130 to 230 seats with a cruising range of 3,850 nautical miles or 7,130 kilometers.

According to him, this also can support Lion Group business that has flown various domestic and overseas routes.

"Currently Lion Air operates 200 routes, both domestic and overseas such as China and Saudi, so ordering 50 airplanes, I would like to thank rusdi and lion air family for this cooperation," Dinesh said.

Boeing 737 Max 10 is the widest type of aircraft in its series. The main features of the 43.8-meter (143 ft) long plane can carry up to 230 passengers. The operating airline will get the lowest cost per seat per mile (mile-mile) in the class of single-carrier aircraft.

The aircraft is equipped with Boeing Sky interior to enhance the passenger's highest comfort, panel display and outdoor cockpit space as well as numerous other features that offer efficiency, maximum reliability in a single-aisle aircraft class.

The Boeing 737 Max family is the fastest-selling plane in history, with accumulated bookings reaching 44,000 from 96 customers worldwide.
