Steemian!!
On 14 February 2018, Xiaomi officially released the fifth generation Redmi series in Indonesia.
Well, what I discuss this time is Xiaomi Redmi 5 variant of 3 GB RAM and Storage 32 GB which dibandrol worth Rp1.899.000. Not far from my estimation, where I believe Redmi 5 is intended to replace Redmi 4x variant.
The main highlight of this phone is of course on the screen with a ratio of 18: 9, which although only HD + resolution only, but I think in the screen category terkinclong on one million phones like this. The color reproduction is good, and the density is still very reasonable considering the screen dimension is 5.7 inches with elongated ratio.
Already that's it?
Actually it still exists. The use of Snapdragon 450 processor on hape that cost ga up to 2-millions, is another achievement of Xiaomi which allegedly some of its shares are owned by Qualcomm.
This processor is the same as used on Vivo V7 and Vivo V7 + which cost twice as much as Redmi 5. And since holding both Vivo phones even then, I already believe that this is the processor that will be the future of Qualcomm in the middle to entry level segment. The character is very similar to Snapdragon 625, where the fabrication is both 14nm, power-saving and not easy to heat, just different in its clockspeed that duturunkan little.
The antisu score is 10-thousands between Snapdragon 450 and 625.
And, combined with the famous MIUI battery-saving, Redmi 5 is capable of utilizing 3,300 mAh battery to last up to 36 hours while using wi-fi, and about 30 hours while relying on cellular connections. Screen-on-time is also long for my usage size.
Naturally if MIUI like this, because MIUI diet notification. Where applications that want to always run in the background and receive notifications, must be locked first.
When I tested, Redmi 5 I already use MIUI 9, with Android version of Nougat 7.1.2.
Anything good from Redmi 5? The answer is there.
Audio. I am quite amazed with the audio Redmi 5 where out of the ordinary Redmi series phones that usually sounds normal. Redmi 5 belongs to have a good sound output, with power that feels, and the control and detail are also beautiful. Not the best loudspeaker indeed, but well above the average for its price level.
How about a camera? The enhancement I feel is a more stable video result than the previous Redmi series. To be used to take photos are also quite good, though still terlhat as a picture of hape camera class 1-2 millions.
For lowlights, incomplete mode manuals make it less reliable. Moreover, without image stabilization, the process of shooting in this condition should be more careful that the result is not rocking or blur. Understandably, in low light conditions, usually shutterspeed automatically slows down so that more incoming light, would be a little shake, the result is very subtle blur.
Overall there are improvements about the camera, but do not expect the results of the same class with high-end hape yes.
I will not discuss details about UI and UX of this phone yes, MIUI I think so-so. And since a year back I've tried various Xiaomi phones, I can conclude, this MIUI is a double-edged knife.
Why is that?
On the one hand, MIUI is good because of its similar experience, at all price levels of Xiaomi phones. So, create a new one can buy mobile 1-2 millions, do not be sad, experience you get when buying Redmi 5 more or less the same koq with Mi Mix 2, different in response time only.
Well on the other hand, this actually makes sad for expensive mobile phone users Xiaomi, because the same experience can actually be obtained at a much cheaper price.
The main difference is most in the material used. But Redmi 5 also has a good build quality koq.
So, I agree that the mending is Xiaomi products that are affordable, aka economical.
Oh yes, about the design, Redmi 5 can be spelled boring, aka so-so aja, except the screen. But this is very, very understandable, Xiaomi's profit is not much from selling gadgets because, with the price-to-spec comparisan very good, maybe we can not expect the design will be exclusive.
And when compared with Redmi 5 Plus, should be recognized Plus Plus its design is more beautiful. You can see the difference between the two on last year's unboxing video on my channel.
One rival came from Infinix which released Hot S3 at the same price for the same RAM and storage variants. On paper Hot S3 excels in the camera sector and battery capacity, as well as OS that supposedly is Oreo. But still using the processor that has persisted old school, the Snapdragon 430 that has been used Xiaomi since Redmi 3s ago.
Which Mending? I can not answer.
But, if you just look at what Xiaomi Redmi 5 offers, compared to the price, without looking at the competition, I would easily recommend this phone.
Stay, if this phone can be obtained easily and with the official price? Hopefully yes, do not let conditions such as Redmi 5A who must scramble, and often found resold at a much higher price.
