Yes sir I agree. Any business is a people business whether they believe that or not. Even more so with a social media site. All I know is that they are supposed to be concentrating on SMT's from now on and not worry about Steemit. But they've been saying that for a year or more.
I know they're making improvements. I watched the video they made with the lady they hired last year, I think her name is Elizabeth? She's a marketing specialist but was assigned the task of reducing their operating costs which she got down from about $250,000 per month to $10,000 per month, and with advertising they are now showing a profit so that is a huge improvement.
Yes, those are improvements from an administrator's perspective (which is important to an market evaluation), a large business is like a living organism, it requires many aspects to work smoothly and in a coordinate fashion for it to be a healthy venture.
For example, financial management (risk management, investment management, stock management, debt management), technology management (innovation staff, maintenance staff, etc), branding management (here is where Steemit Inc loses our faces 🤦🏻♂️, marketing, custumers attentions, feedback with influencers in your targeted audience, finding out competitors shortcomings and appointing them as marketing opportunities for your brand, figuring competitors strengths to develop original solutions that outpace them, etc)
Howdy again sir joelsegovia! you should be working for steemit! Well, that lady that they hired who is a marketing specialist is supposed to start working her magic when they get the expenses down so she should be able to help start getting Steem some exposure and attention with investors and advertisers, big ones I mean.
Then they can work on all those other areas you mentioned...if things are stable and they're making good money. I'm sure they need to hire more experts in those areas though. Branding is so vital and I don't know if Steem has any type of brand yet, do they?
Steem flagship is supposed to be Steemit (a social media blogging-like platform where users can get rewards by creating content and engaging with other users on the platform), but Steem use cases are not limited to Steemit, Steemmonsters collectible card game is another showcase of how this platform can create a digital economy for people interested in creating applications (you could create polls, scientific journals that can pay researches with immediacy for their contributions, etc)
Steem is a sandbox, there is a plethora of opportunities for people with vision and resources.
Howdy today sir joelsegovia! I agree although I never thought of using the blockchain for scientific journals. But the point is excellent that the uses are nearly limitless.
It will be an amazing use case, one of the pain spot for most researches is that middle men cut more than half of the revenue produced by publishing papers, leveraging the already proven technology of the Steem blockchain (or a fork of it) could be a nice solution.
Howdy sir joelsegovia! And do you think many researchers are aware of the efficiency that Steem could bring them or is it still too unknown?
There is a small community that already has started their own magazeine-like platform. You can check them on https://www.steemstem.io
The community is a hub of engineers and scientist who post all sort of interesting content about what they are currently researching about.
