A year ago, when I found out about Steem and Steemit, I didn't really understand what it was.
At this point, I have some strong thoughts on what Steem is, and what it represents.
Power back to the people.
Steem enable users to start earning crypto, right now, and in a not really difficult way: all you have to do is share.
You could share your expertees, knowledge, your life, your sense of humor - anything will do.
Of course it's not that easy, right? I think most of newcomers (including myself) signed up on steemit as soon as we heard of it expecting to make $500 a day, like some people made us believe -- but nothing really happened.
That's the reason why I left steemit for over a year, and just forgot about it. Because I couldn't engage.
But here's the thing I learned that makes this time on Steem different than the previous one: in order to make things happen, you have to make it happen . You're not going to be rewarded just by posting and waiting for people to 'discover' you and start following and liking by themselves.
You need to socialize. That's why they call it social media network.
Fortunately, Steem is the perfect place for being social. It rewards social people.
Steem is an ecosystem for everyone, since everyone has something to share.
I myself am a developer, and I can't wait to contribute to the growth of this community -- big time.
