I think DTube is only worth it if you have a following in the DTube crowd. Otherwise, especially if you have limited internet, it is better not to.

I say it must be a passion, the creation of video content is something I live for now. May not be the right choice for all but I have found many ways to therapeutically express myself through my creations which has been IMO what has brought the best responses for me!
The limited internet is a major hurdle, I am very lucky to be able to afford extremely good internet and you are right if the connection you have is not sufficient you may as well not bother! Especially since we are seemingly moving towards a system of users host in their own files and files of other, true decentralization!
