Petronas Twin Towers or Petronas Twin Towers (in Malay: 'Petronas Twin Towers') in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia is a pair of twin towers that once became the tallest building in the world in 1998-2004, before being exceeded by the Burj Khalifa and Taipei 101. However, this tower is still the world's tallest twin skyscraper in the 20th century. The Petronas Twin Towers hold the title as the tallest building from 1998 to 2004 based on measurements from the main entrance floor to the upper structure, according to the original height of building reference used by the International Council of Tall Building and Urban Habitat organizations since 1969 (three additional height categories were introduced when the tower was almost completed in 1996).
