One of the habits of Indonesian people to open the morning is to drink warm sweet tea. So it is when dawn. Warm tea is suppose to increase energy to increase body energy. In fact, caffeine in tea contains diuretic properties.
According to Dr. Diana F Suganda, MKes, SpGK, clinical nutrition specialist from Rumah Pondok Indah Hospital, warm tea would be better when exchanged with warm milk. The reason, caffeine in tea also has diuretic properties that make the body so dehydrated.
"Instead of sweet tea, it's better to drink warm tea. If tea there is caffeine, it's useless to drink but it drains the water in your body. Just like coffee, "said Dr. Diana in Senayan, South Jakarta, Tuesday (23/5).
So also with coffee. Not infrequently people drink coffee at dawn to be able to keep active and the spirit of activity. In fact, coffee also contains caffeine and has the same effect with tea.
"But coffee contains caffeine which is diuretic and secrete fluid, so it can cause dehydration, increase blood pressure and heart rate," said Dr. Diana.
