Gardener divides the intelligence of children in eight areas of intelligence: linguistics, mathematical logic, visual and spatial, music, interpersonal, intrapersonal, kinesthetic, and naturalist.
The naturalist's intelligence is the ability to recognize, see differences, classify, and categorize what he sees or encounters in nature or in his environment.
Children with naturalist intelligence have a high curiosity about human behavior, natural or environmental phenomena, or show interest in unusual subjects such as biology, zoology, botany, geology, meteorology, paleontology or astronomy.
Characteristics of a child with naturalist intelligence:
1. Children love to keep or love animals or plants.
2. Children can recognize and distinguish the names of different types of trees, flowers and plants.
3. The child can show things in his environment that others have passed.
4. Loved outdoor activities such as gardening, camping, hiking, fishing, or even just sitting still and watching for subtle changes in the environment.
5. Children love books or collect things about natural phenomena, natural objects, images, and writings of his own observations.
Then, what support can parents do to children who have naturalist intelligence?
Parents can take on the role of developing the naturalist abilities of children by:
1. Frequently invite children to do activities in the wild such as camping, climbing, gardening and more.
2. Maintain and care for plants or pets.
3. Visit the zoo, ecological and nature tours, or museums related to nature.
4. Drawing or photographing natural objects with children.
5. Observe and study the world of animals, plants, and nature.

My baby girl is definitely a naturalist! She loves everything to do with outside! We have done gardening with her since she could walk and her newest favorite thing to do is feed the baby chickens! Shes been a lover of animals since before she could talk. I will continue to push her in this direction! Shes already decided she wants to be an animal doctor (vet) when she grows up! <3
