The Directorate General of National Export Development of the Ministry of Trade encourages business players and creative and design communities to participate in the Good Design Indonesia (GDI) event this year.
GDI is an award for best product design works in Indonesia. Registration opens from April 17, 2018 to May 15, 2018. Arlinda hope, products that follow this year's selection more than last year.
GDI activities are also a selection of design-based export products. The hope, the design work that won the GDI more qualified, so the chances of competing in the global market growing. The ultimate goal, Indonesian products can be export-oriented.
"This activity aims to motivate and encourage business actors to develop design-based products," said Director General of National Export Development Arlinda through a written statement on Friday (4/5/2018).
GDI is a cooperation between Directorate General of PEN and Japan Institute of Design Promotion (JDP), as the organizer of G-Mark activities in Japan which has been running since 1957. And also supported by Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO).
This year there are six categories of products to be assessed. The six categories are furniture and home decor, home appliances, lifestyle and accessories, packaging and graphic design, as well as transportation and electronics. For the category of electronic products, transportation, and household appliances, there is additional requirement that is SNI certification.
Arlinda said, GDI is open to all business actors and designers. The requirement is easy, the work is produced in Indonesia, designed by Indonesian designers, and marketed in Indonesia. Further requirements and registration can be accessed through the website http://id-designmark.org.
In addition to the opportunity to receive product publicity by the Ministry of Commerce, the award-winning GDI also has the opportunity to perform in exhibitions of national and international products, as well as obtain a license to use the GDI logo.
