Why in Aceh we call this dark-colored locust "Darut Jen"?
This dark grasshopper is named so because of its apparently creepy and resembling jinn or jen attitudes. His attitude is always voiced at the time of sunset where the people of Aceh who are Muslim majority are performing sunset prayer. Anyone who interferes with people who are praying then considered as a genie in Aceh. This is the myth of "Darut Jen" which until now became the material or tool to frighten the children to no longer play outside the house if the day is almost dark.
