It's so sad that the students of ladoke akintola university of technology have continuously witnessed what I describe as a 'continous incessant strike action' which has since been the normals of the school. This has repeatedly cause severe damages into the lives of innocent students whose only offense was to go to school.
I once wrote about depression. It's important to know that students suffer from a great deal of depression. The major depression every student of knowledge must experience is divided into three which includes:
- Academic depression
- Financial depression and
- Emotional depression.
These forms of depression constitutes a large percentage of a student battle while in school. If this percentage rises, then there is no telling what such a student might do and at the very least causes imbalance and psychological trauma. This school has since been experiencing riots, protests and ceaseless strike due to staff fees not being paid and has caused bitterness in the heart of everyone especially students.
Barely two weeks into our final examinations., another strike erupts out of nowhere. Some finalist students like myself were on the verge of their last paper and just like that, all activities came to a stop. Our leaders remain careless about the life of some 35,000 students whom none of their family members or relatives is part of. I am personally in a state which leaves me lost in thought. Not about school actually but about my life. As to what the future holds for me.
I am not sad, am just worried about the future. I am optimistic and hopeful about it. Nothing is permanent about this life, the table eventually turns at one point...
This is merely a report on the state of affairs in a school with unjust leaders.
