The metropolis of Manhattan isn’t known for its sunset views, but one particular phenomenon gives the city a dramatic end to the day.
For two evenings in May and two in July, the sun sets in alignment with the city’s street grid. Named for England’s Stonehenge the sun sets straight down the city’s skyscraper canyons.
You won’t be able to resist capturing it on camera, so head to some of the wider streets of New York for the best snap – 14th, 34th, 42nd, 59th and 79th yield the best results.
That picture is definitely a full-on WOW moment. Quite beautiful.
