Bicycles Onthel (English: Roadster bicycle) or also referred to as camel bikes, kebo bikes, or pit pancal is a standard type of bicycle with 28 inch size tires commonly used by urban people until the late 1970s. Onthel bikes refer to the Dutch design bicycle which is characterized by an upright sitting position and has a very strong and high quality reputation. Characteristics are closed chain houses. With teeth that cannot be changed and there is usually a dynamo on the front wheel to turn on the lights. This bike is also equipped with brake drum for braking.

Various types of bicycle brands from various countries circulate in the Indonesian market. In the premium segment there are for example Fongers, Gazelle and Sunbeam brands. Then the lower segment is filled with several well-known brands including Simplex, Burgers, Raleigh, Humber, Rudge, Batavus, Phillips and NSU.

This Onthel bicycle began to be widely used in the days of the Dutch East Indies. Then in the 1970s the existence of onthel bikes began to be shifted by "jengki bicycles" which were more compact in size both in height and length and were not distinguished by designs for male or female riders. At that time the jengki bicycle which was quite popular was the Phoenix brand from China. Furthermore, Jengki bikes in the 1980s also began to be displaced by MTB bikes until now. In Indonesia, the general public uses this type of bicycle for transportation and as a private vehicle like today's motorbike era before the 1970s. Ontel bikes are commonly used by Indonesian urban communities from the Dutch colonial era until the 1950s-1960s-1970s. After the 70s and up to the 2000s, people have started using motorbikes.

Onthel bikes later in the 1970s were slowly being used more by rural communities than in cities. But in the end due to age and scarcity, onthel bikes have turned into antiques and unique. The situation began to turn around, the onthel bicycle that was once wasted, now in the 2000s it was hunted back by all people from students, students to officials. The Javanese say this is the "turn of the times". The eagerness of people for onthel bikes is right along with the growing threat of global warming. Now many ancient bicycle clubs and communities from various regions in Indonesia, spread from Sabang to Merauke which number in hundreds of communities, and even then only those that have been monitored and registered, not to mention many are not registered or joined organizations under the auspices of KOSTI (Old Bicycle Community Indonesia).

Sepeda Onthel (Bahasa Inggris: Roadster bicycle) atau juga disebut sebagai sepeda unta, sepeda kebo, atau pit pancal adalah sebuah tipe sepeda standar dengan ban ukuran 28 inchi yang biasa digunakan oleh masyarakat perkotaan sampai akhir tahun 1970-an. Sepeda onthel mengacu pada sepeda desain Belanda yang bercirikan posisi duduk tegak dan memiliki reputasi yang sangat kuat dan berkualitas tinggi. Karakteristik adalah rumah rantai tertutup. Dengan gigi yang tidak bisa diubah dan biasanya terdapat dinamo di bagian roda depan untuk menyalakan lampu. Sepeda ini juga dilengkapi Rem drum untuk pengereman.

Sepeda Onthel ini mulai banyak digunakan pada zaman Hindia Belanda. Kemudian pada tahun 1970-an keberadaan sepeda onthel mulai digeser oleh "sepeda jengki" yang berukuran lebih kompak baik dari ukuran tinggi maupun panjangnya dan tidak dibedakan desainnya untuk pengendara pria atau wanita. Waktu itu sepeda jengki yang cukup populer adalah merek Phoenix dari China. Selanjutnya, Sepeda jengki pada tahun 1980-an juga mulai tergeser oleh sepeda MTB sampai sekarang. Di Indonesia, masyarakat umum menggunakan sepeda model ini untuk transportasi dan sebagai kendaraan pribadi selayaknya sepeda motor jaman sekarang dizaman sebelom tahun 1970an. Sepeda ontel umum dipakai oleh masyarakat perkotaan Indonesia dari zaman penjajahan Belanda hingga tahun 1950an-1960an-1970an. Setelah tahun 70an keatas hingga tahun 2000an, masyarakat sudah mulai menggunakan sepeda motor.

Sepeda Onthel kemudian pada tahun 1970-an secara perlahan lebih banyak digunakan oleh masyarakat pedesaan dibanding diperkotaan. Namun pada akhirnya karena usia dan kelangkaan, sepeda onthel telah berubah menjadi barang antik dan unik. Mulailah situasi berbalik, sepeda onthel yang dulunya terbuang, sekarang pada tahun 2000-an justru diburu kembali oleh semua kalangan mulai dari pelajar, mahasiswa sampai pejabat. Orang Jawa mengatakan inilah "wolak-waliking zaman". Keranjingan masyarakat terhadap sepeda onthel adalah tepat bersamaan dengan berkembangnya ancaman global warming. Kini banyak klub-klub dan komunitas sepeda kuno dari berbagai daerah di Indonesia, tersebar dari Sabang hingga Merauke yang jumlahnya ratusan komunitas, itupun hanya yang sempat terpantau dan terdaftar, belum lagi masih banyak yang tidak terdaftar atau ikut organisasi dibawah naungan KOSTI (Komunitas Sepeda Tua Indonesia).
