The Indonesian government claims to have received an answer letter from Facebook about the clarification of the over the top (OTT) foreign service against data leakage of 1 million users in Indonesia.
Director General of Applications and Informatics (Aptika) at the Ministry of Communication and Informatics (Kemkominfo) said the letter of reply from Facebook has been received on Wednesday (25/4/2018) or about 15 days after Kemkominfo sends the 2nd Warning Letter (SP) on April 10 2018.
According to the man who is familiarly called Sammy, the reply letter contains about clarification of all questions Kemkominfo, one of which is claiming Facebook has disconnected third-party applications such as CubeYOU and Aggregate IQ.
"Facebook has provided answers to the information we have requested to clarify, in which Facebook has restricted third-party access and disconnection," he said on Thursday (26/4/2018) night.
According to him, foreign application players are now also conducting a thorough investigation of all third-party applications. Related to the results of internal audit, Facebook still can not give it to the Government of Indonesia, because it is still a process and takes quite a long time.
"So the process of audit done by Facebook is still running and takes time, he (Facebook) said the progress of the audit will be informed to the Government of Indonesia," he said.
