When we talk about insects, of course we are reminded of their existence on this earth, and that is an important object to talk about because their existence greatly affects plant habitats. Then the population is also increasing rapidly in this era, this happens because the displacement of the place that they do because the original location has been damaged so that it is in the human environment.
This was proven by a group of agricultural students when they conducted a research involving plants, they found new species of insects, one of which was a forest beetle which now always exists on agricultural land.
Saying new does not mean that they do not yet exist, but their presence in the countryside is new. In general, this one species usually lives and develops in tropical forests far from residential areas.
Golden leaf beetle
This one beetle is said to be the Golden Leaf Beetle, very different from the usual beetles which are generally green in leaves, and another difference is the color of the wings like the color of gold which lies on two wings.
Then another very striking difference is the size of the body that is larger than similar beetles, usually ordinary leaf beetles measuring approximately 1 inch while the width is 0.5 inches. While the gold leaf beetle is an average of 3 inches long and 0.8 inches wide. But if judging from a scientific point of view he is still in the Coleoptera order which is often discussed.
This species is often found in large trees such as mango trees, jackfruit, and other trees that eat fruit. Its presence in this plant is very pleasant for them because they are free to perforate large tree trunks or branches. Its existence is very easy to trace because it makes nests by tearing tree trunks with black round shapes that look dirty with tree dust.
Its existence
The existence of this species can be said to not worry plant farmers because the population is still minimal, in my savings in tracing its existence around one wood tree there are 3 or 4 tails, but in the worry if the population increases and will automatically make a nest on each tree the plant will eventually die and dry.
But to this day its presence in the trees is not yet at an alarming stage and even the farmers are not yet anxious about its existence, they only eat a few fruits that grow around their nests. Most likely this has happened because the population is still minimal and few, so the destruction is still not at an alarming stage.
When we see a physical body that is very slow in its activity then it makes people who see it become interested, which is added to a larger body size when compared with ordinary beetles of ordinary types in general. Another attraction is the yellow and golden yellow wings so that their appearance attracts the attention of those who see them.
This golden leaf beetle does not appear to fly like other types of insects that always move from one tree to another.
