Little Daydreamers.
Today, I am sharing images of four little girls who are with friends and family, but are lost in their own little world, daydreaming about places and magical events found only in their imaginations. They have become oblivious to their surroundings and have begun to dream dreams based on their individual personalities and desires.
Each image has been created by using digital effects to my original photos.
A few months ago I created this poem to go with photos similar to these and thought the words were very appropriate for this blog too.
THE INNOCENCE OF A CHILD.
I think about it quite a lot; the innocence of a child
And when its snatched and robbed from them it makes me very wild.
There’s nothing more endearing than to watch a child at play
Responsibilities they do not have, No burdens night or day.
Our role of parents is vigilance; we cannot slacken off
But should we hover constantly? Fret over every cough?
In days gone by we’d let them go, to parks and fields nearby
Exhausted, happy, they’d return, after waving their friends Good-bye.
The world has changed in many ways; A fact we can’t deny
In the hearts of some, evil exits. And yes, we do ask, Why?
The innocence of our children’s lives should be a priority
And whatever you do, wherever you go, provide security.
I watch them play and interact, when innocence remains
With fantasies and imaginings, they stimulate their brains
They’ll grow too soon and become aware, that life’s not always nice
Protect their eyes, their ears, their hearts; That is my best advice.

Hi Jo thanks for your lovely comments. After watching our own children grow up and our grand children in the process of growing up, I am so aware of how quickly time goes by and the need to be constantly alert.
