Thank you Melinda. Yes, the floods up north have been absolutely devastating. They have called it a 1 in a 500 year event. Many farmers have lost 100% of their cattle, countless homes destroyed, livelihoods ruined and now one person has died due to water borne bacterial infection with at least 10 on the critical list.
It will take a very long time to restore infrastructure and incomes and naturally, meat and produce prices will sky rocket due to a shortage in the country.
Catastrophic weather is becoming more and more the norm, isn't it? It's very scary.
That's very true Melinda. And even the experts cannot predict the severity of these major weather events.
My fear is that we will see more and more of them.
Unfortunately I think you are right Melinda and it is hard to prepare ourselves for such events.
