Too long sunbathing in the sun can indeed make our skin black. But if not excessive, the sun can actually be a friend of our healthy life. This is because sunlight is an excellent source of vitamin D. Our body produces vitamin D from sunlight that is directly exposed to the skin when we are outdoors.
Vitamin D is essential for the absorption of calcium and phosphorus, helps the growth and development of bones and teeth, maintains muscle health, makes the immune system function normally, and makes our body immune to certain diseases.
