Ethereum continues to grow even though you wouldn't be able to tell much from it's price tag. But when you start looking at applications it starts to paint a picture of a very undervalued coin.
Metamask a chrome plugin for Ethereum is one of the most popular ways to store and use ethereum on the currently thousands of dApps.
In fact 192,000 active users are currently using metamask and a weekly average of 65,000.
This number has grown and continues to grow and when you look at those numbers it is just a small tip of the iceberg in terms of internet users.
As more people use the applications and dApps that are built on top of Ethereum the system will become even more seemless and easier to use. There is still a learning curve but that is ok as with any new tech those who spend the time to learn it now will benefit it before the masses adopt it.
When you start to put everything together from all sources what we can clearly see is in the background a large amount of new dApps, more transactions (not fake ones) and an increasing demand.
Really all that is in the way is for one dApp to really take off which drive mass demand for Ethereum. That coupled with 2-3 years worth of major development planned on the Ethereum blockchain makes me feel like Ethereum is a great long term investment.

Ethereum has fallen behind in technology but it has great support behind it and the first mover advantage will get it back to its glory soon enough; then, the focus will be on adoption!

DeFi will be Ethereum's strong point. But it depends on what dapps will reference Ethereum's trust layers, and what they need. Developers are moving elsewhere for certain dapps.
Not really, maybe the small ones but the major players are all going to ethereum
Waiting for that killer dapp it will only take the one to draw attention to whats possible on Eth
