We have seen Bitcoin hitting highest again and again recently, when future trading was announced. Despite the fact of Segwit2x's replay protection problem. Which is not entirely dead but still alive under the hood just with little support currently, just to be clear.
Impacts of 2017 on Crypto Market
There's a significant increase in total crypto currencies' marketcap from $17.9 Billion on Jan 2017 till $267 Billion till 25th November 2017. It's not even one year completed yet.
How This Happened?
- Seminars in 2017 Major role to make this happen is the seminars took place on crypto currencies as well blockchain technology from the ending of 2016. We never had that much education spreading in previous years.
- ICOs in 2017 Along with that, we have seen many ICOs got released in 2017. On various different problems that can be solved with blockchain technology.
- Media Hype Media played a very big role into this, even by spreading negativity, but keeping their viewers update on the price of Bitcoin and Ethereum mostly. For better or worse, it has created a lot of interest in general public to get curious about bitcoin and other cryptos.
- Content Providers There are many content providers online, educating people on crypto currencies even for starters or newbies. It's also worth mentioning that many these content providers has done a great job, helping people even in troubleshooting and educating over safety.
- Enlightenment over Decentralization Even though many countries are still in process to decide, If crypto-currencies should have legality and till what extent. This has also shown the fear in governments, As they know that blockchain is currently the most trusted system exist that too with decentralization. On the other hand, they kind of provided an approval stamp on blockchain technology by the announcements we are getting from various countries launching their fiat currency on similar platform.
This has certainly left an imprint over people and made them curious enough to know, about the banking system VS blockchain technology. Also an eye opener for many people, who were thinking bitcoin is a ponzi.
Based the points above and others that i might have missed to mention, we now have more and more people coming into crypto space than ever. If this was the scenario in 2017. We can only guess, what greater value 2018 will be bringing.
Impacts of Future Trading on Ethereum - My Views
As mentioned above Bitcoin has recently shown us a significant increase despite the confusion of SegWit2x upgrade. Future trading is a gateway, opening the doors for institutional investors. This is the time i believe, we all have been waiting for. Bloomberg has released a news article: Bitcoin Futures Pave Way for Ether Derivatives From CDS Pioneer
Ethereum has been a promising crypto for 2017. It is definite for Bitcoin to reach or even stay over $10k really soon. Ethereum being announced along with it in Future Trading & being the second most favorite in crypto space, there are chances to attract more investors into it. As buying 1 ETH will be much easier than buying 1 BTC in prospect of the value they both carry.

I have a few concerns about ETH. For one, I'm not convinced the developers can deliver on what they are trying to do. They have a 2-5 year plan to reach scaleability, which is light years in this business.
Another caution in my mind: earlier this year, Vlad Zamfir, one of the core developers of ETH tweeted, "Ethereum isn't safe or scaleable. It is immature experimental tech. Don't rely on it for mission critical apps unless absolutely necessary."
Just a couple of red flags for consideration. I'd be interested in your thoughts. Thank you.

Nice write-up! There is good news as Bitcoin recently hit $10,000. I think with the strength of bitcoin on the rise ETH will play more of a future role as more people become interested in investing and using it for their own purposes. As your numbers and information have shown, a plethora of people jumping on the wagon and they will as the word and numbers spread. There is always a risk, but at the present time, ETH is holding a decent place. Only time will tell...
Im holding ETH (all 25 bux ) and praying that countries and bankers have precious little say and contol over crypto
