Google, investor in Golem? It appears to be true.

in #ethereum8 years ago (edited)

Maybe this explains why the price shot up so high so fast and why Golem is so hyped. The question, what does Google get out of this investment?

Of course this could all be a hoax to try to trick people into buying more GNT because Google Ventures never announced anything to the public about this and it's only on one site.

Better buy Iex.ec when it can't be any cheaper

@dana-edwards Golem could be threat for google clod services

No, it wont because it's not going to scale from what I see and also will take a long time to develop over Ethereum. I don't see it being like Google any time soon but the hype would have people believe this.

Sure, in 10 years maybe, but there are going to be other projects which will have better more experienced development teams, built on better platforms than Ethereum, within that 10 years.

@dana-edwards I would agree with you.

It won't work and even if they put in enough effort to somehow get it to work, it will not be efficient or scale with the current design as I understand it. The benefits aren't as high as idealists seem to believe in exchange for the very high risks but I'm in support of Golem because it might solve some research problems. I just don't see it being a production ready implementation any time soon.

There might be better ways to go about this.
