We recently saw a big crash for the whole crypto-market, however one of the bigger losers was without a doubt Ethereum. Ethereum went down 10-15%, which indicates that something is making the currency more vulnerable than just the vulnerability that comes from the fact the currency is based on demand/supply.
What caused the crash was fake rumors, that said that Vitalik Buterin had been killed in a car accident. These rumors became very apparent and serious, since Vitalik couldn't answer the claims since he - who lives in Hong Kong - at the time of the rumors was sleeping.
Why would it cause such harm to the value of the crypto if one guy dies?
When it comes to ethereum, it can cause very big harm.
See, Ethereum isn't "really" decentralized. Vitalik is able to create changes to the currency code, simple on his own, whilst Bitcoin, Steemit and others are user based .
So should we move away from yet another centralized cryptocurrency, Ethereum? And instead move towards Bitcoin once again?
I think Ethereum is a very dangerous thing to be in, and very small things, such as a guys death can cause 15 bil dollar of losses, I'd say we should move on.
