The few users of EtherShuffle I've had the opportunity to interact with have been awesome, understanding, and excited by the implications EtherShuffle has in their lives. The chance to increase their ether balances with little effort and even less risk than day trading.
One such user had this to say:
Hello!
I really like the game you have made but I have some suggestions.
Ive noticed that the user base is quite low. I understand it is new and people have heard much about it yet. One way i think you could draw more people in would be to seed the first several games in order to fill of slots faster. Make an announcement of this on reddit and twitter, and you are bound to draw more people in.
Ethorse did this and i believe it is quite successful the userbase is pretty consistent.
Also there should be a time limit of 24 hours. So if a contract doesnt fill up in one day people will get a refund. Locking up ether in a game and not have anyone join for days is not fun.
I am the only player in game 3 right now and its been over 24 hours. Now im not a whale and it worries me that its just locked into a contract that may never fill.
Do you have any mechanisms for issuing regunds?
My address is [redacted]
I really do like the project and want to play more. Just not if games take several days.
Cheers
This was my response:
Thanks for your email.
I'm going to add a few players of my own to your game so the contract picks it up and completes it for you. I apologize for the delay.
You are right, EtherShuffle doesn't have enough users yet. I think a few things are going on here: Building trust is crucial.
Few people are willing to play at 0.1 ETH (sometimes around ~$70USD)
No one knows about EtherShuffle, and while they can read the contract on etherscan (code is king after all) they probably won't.To that end, I'm working on something called EtherShuffle Lite.
Players get to play at 0.015 ETH (around ~$10USD).
They have to pick the games they want to join
They get to create an unlimited number of new games.I'm also working on ways to increase the user base:
Create an affiliate program where marketers can share in the fees for each game if players use their links.
Add variable pricing or player counts (10 players at $1000USD ETH equivalent or 3 players at $20USD for example).
Private game links (for inviting just your friends). Thanks,
The Shuffler
I'm a big fan of accomplishing big things in small chunks, so:
- I'm making the "Lite" version of EtherShuffle the main version you see when you get to the site. Check it out here.
- I'll be adding an affiliate program for the passionate few to profit from each game played using their links
- I'll be working on a centralized version which is still anonymous but has variable pricing/payouts as well as private game links.
