In a surprising turn of events, the hacker of the highly-publicized CoinDash ICO in July this year, has returned part of the loot to the victim. An amount of 10,000 Ether (worth US$2.57 million at time of this post) was returned to CoinDash's original ICO wallet. View the transaction on the blockchain
The hack was effected by switching the Ether wallet address on the CoinDash website just moments prior to the ICO start. This resulted in US$7m worth of Ether being sent to the hacker's wallet by unsuspecting would-be investors.
It remains unclear why the hacker has had this sudden change of heart.
