What you have to remember is that Ethereum and Ethereum Classic are both fundamentally the same blockchain forked into two different goals. Ether Classic want to keep simplicity and security at the centre and Ether want to push towards mass app adoption. The one thing that doesn't change between the two platforms is smart contacts. This in my opinion makes the whole Ethereum enterprise so valuable, it allows money and contacts to think for them-selves. (Thats putting it very simply). Need to stay on topic. The reason Ethereum Classic is such a great investment is because if mass adoption of the Ethereum platform does begin to build momentum, the lower the price of the currency the better! This puts Ethereum Classic in a very competitive market place. With a more secure platform that Ethereum and cheaper currency price its a no brainer for big business.
My predictions for what will happen is either the Ethereum currency price will have to come down to a more feasible level or they will have to restructure the currency. This is a big deal and will create uncertainty in the coin. In the long term though if Ethereum can devise a way of keeping the currency price high and contact prices low, i think Ethereum Classic will probably come to a bleak end.
On the other Hand...
Another prediction is the Ethereum Classic price will rise and catch up with Ethereum as more companies want a better rate for there smart contacts. If the Ethereum project can't manage there restructure, Ethereum Classic price will surely catch up or maybe even suppose Ethereum because of added security on the system. Investors and big business love simplicity, if Ethereum Classic can solve there problems at the fraction of the price then its a bright future for the currency.
This is a very quick snippet of some of my ideas! Interesting times for both platforms! The outcome will be an impressive show. Thats why i love this space and follow it! its moving at a million miles an hour with no stop in sight! Hope you guys enjoyed these predictions.

I believe the big change will be with Metropolis and Casper.... but overall I think ETC is undervalue at the moment, so it is a good buy opportunity.
But I have problems to see it getting closer to ETH value, more on the $80-$100 space...
