All coins with a community will have echo-chamber effects THAT CAN BE MANIPULATED so I hardly find his fear founded or maybe misplaced.

He's deep in Core/Blockstream camp, their entire economical/scalability model is based on assumption that there is and will be no competition for Bitcoin.
