We all know of Tether aka USDT the main stable coin worth 1 USD (if it is or not, thats not part of this post).
Actually there is plenty more with nice caps:
- PAX 41 531 643 USD
- TUSD 166 587 199 USD
- USDC 23 841 602 USD
- GUSD 3 929 513 USD
- DAI 63 034 666 USD
That gives us over 290 MM USD held by ETH blockchain.
If you add that USDT actually also has partial ERC20 usage of around 35MM this makes Ethereum network worth sick cash just due to this.
Are stablecoins the next hot thing?

Where is bitUSD?
on bitshares :)))
At some point Stable coins are going to be knocked out of CMC soon or grayed out...with the way of getting insane amount of Marketcap fast. Plus it fiat :P
I even heard that some banks would actually use stable coin instead of Ripple lol
So yeah in the near future if we want market cap to be something it needs to exclude stablecoin(atleast centralized ones)
yeah crazy times
I feel that stablecoins have definitely had a spike in interest during this bear-market and will continued to be utilised once we move towards a bull cycle.
Did you know you can create your own stablecoin pegged to almost anything? It's a new innovative protocol called PEG Network. They just announced recently and are already live. - https://medium.com/@pegnetwork/announcing-peg-network-e156c226ac6c
that one i dont know of but i know of Bitshares ;)

Really good insight! Thank you for sharing.
enjoy man
I'm not a fan of stable coins. I'd rather have cash than a digital equivalent which may not be real.
tusd is getting bigger right now? their high cap is quite good tho. i heard that their price drop on kucoin will be extended, should i continue?
Yes indeed usdc is the hot thing on crypto right now and increasingly popular. It is a fiat-collateralized coin that means that a centralized company holds assets in a bank account and issues tokens that represent a claim on those underlying assets. They have a relatively chargeless trading fee on one exchange.
