Looking at the graph of Ethereum vs. Bitcoin in the Google Trends graph below for the USA, we can see that ETH has beat out ETC four times this week already!
This is a pretty monumental step for Ethereum in terms of general search interest in the USA.
There have been research articles that indicate Google Trends may predict short term economic indicators, which may mean that the fabled "Flippening" where another cryptocurrency overtakes Bitcoin is coming soon.
Ethereum is still #2 in market capitalization (the overall value of all the currency by today's price multiplied by amount of the currency in the market), and short about 20%.
