So I am very new to the crypto-currency world, yet I have been around the hardware and software world for years. I am seeing a trend that seems to work in the computer equipment world that has never changed, and that is , whey working with computer hardware, or software it always becomes obsolete in just a matter of months. Yes it can still work for you as your needs or hardware requirements may not be very demanding. Yet still the hardware goes obsolete in just a matter of months. Seems for us hardware hungry computer geeks, we are wanting the latest and fastest machines, equipment we can get. Well the same goes for crypto miners, we want it to do more and work faster sense the faster you can break the code on a block , and capture and hold the space the more we make as miners. As for the reasons for the miners is because the more power the better when it comes to Bitcoin, or Ethereum mining. And you use Power and performance mining. Which requires large power provision and electrical bills. It can be very costly and most do not stay in it for very long. The big mining companies now can lease you time and space on there huge mining rigs that are housed in a large warehouse or space and does not cost you as much to be a cloud miner. Yet there is a new mining philosophy, Capacity over performance or Capacity mining where the average home computer owner can mine from there very own computer just by using a simple application. The miner will not get rich quick but can turn a profit while using the simple home computer while mining in the back ground, checkout the Burst craze going on today @ https://www.burst-team.us you can learn how to do simple mining with the unused space on your hard drive. I have been in it for about a month, haven't made a mint but it is a fun hobby to learn how it all works. Now I am going to build a ASIC miner from a home system and see if I can get that to work for me. Still I am seeing that the ASIC miner rigs are a bit heavy on energy usage and could be a drain with not much profit, and this is because the hardware is already obsolete. No one has come up with another type of mining rig that is low in cost, yet is a high performance mining rig. By all means I am not a engineer, nor do I have the skill to build such a mining rig so I will have to experiment with the equipment I have to figure out a way to build a system that can do more than the standard rig, because I do know how it all can work. That is half the battle, and it will take a few months to figure out a few things to get to the point of either staying with it or not.

I think steem is one of the best blockchain systems. Our participation here is the mining. It's genius when we really think about it. We mine with our mind...in our willingness to engage in communication with one another. This is a profound thing when we consider that 'communiction' is a major key in the creation of anything substantial. I mean communication really opens up direction.
