Ethereum startup ConsenSys and the nation of Mauritius are exploring a partnership and the creation of “Ethereum Island,” a blockchain technology hub. This would help transform the local economy and bring blockchain to more people around the world.
Another good news for the cryptocurrency and blockchain enthusiasts is the recent partnership proposal between Ethereum startup ConsenSys and Mauritius.
The main objective of this partnership is to build a hub for blockchain technology which will provide a platform for future initiatives and projects.
Mauritius already has a plan in place to market itself as a leader in blockchain technology market space. It has started providing 'Sandbox' licenses to motivate blockchain innovations. Sandbox licenses are basically regulation and guidelines for the blockchain projects and are friendly and supportive to the entire blockchain ecosystem.
“We have noted around the world that blockchain technology, especially ethereum, is catching on and driving incredible business growth,” Lubin told CoinDesk. “But where we’re seeing extreme traction is in smaller jurisdictions that are more homogeneous in their focus and in their intent, and where there’s a strong top-down drive from government to either leapfrog technologies or take advantage of this powerful technology.” - ConsenSys founder Joseph Lubin
It's a win-win situation for both ConsenSys and the people of Mauritius. It will definitely create employment opportunity for the local people and for ConsenSys the support of a government which is in favor of blockchain space.

We all know Mauritius is famous world over as a tourist destination. It's good to see Mauritius government have a futuristic vision and making fast advancements in blockchain acceleration.
