Sold my SBD(huhuhu I really didn't wish to do that) and bought a little eth two days ago at $260. Envy those able to buy at around $200!! Now it's all coming back up, wuth the market cap nearing $100B again

Either you trade or you hodl. I've been trading recently, but unfortunately it really means staring at the screen 24/7! So I'd probably recommend just having a balanced portfolio with assets that you believe should have long term benefit. With crypto anything is possible - Ethereum could do another 5x...but equally it's possible it could loose 80% too. Who knows!!

I'm not comfortable with trading just yet, so i hold. I totally agree on long-term investing, this is why certain icos have a certain appeal to me. I started investing small on different projects i believe in, I wouldn't feel comfortable going all-in on a single coin lol

Very sensible plan imho :)

Can you tell me is poloniex safe for trading now ? Or should I switch my account to bittrex!
Confused @xaero1

I haven't had any problems with Poloniex, myself.
Other than when they've 'temporarily' disabled withdrawals/deposits for certain coins like STEEM (which at this moment in time is disabled yet again!)
But I've heard stories that a lot of people have had problems.
Poloniex say this is because they've been overwhelmed with the huge influx of new users and have not had the resources to do all the required AML/KYC checks in a timely fashion.

I have been using Bittrex a lot more now (for both of the above reasons), have never had any problems with them, that would be my recommenedation -- unless, you want to trade very large sums, in which case Poloniex may be better because it currently has higher liquidity on many assets.

Thank You so much
Please make a post for everyone about coins and future of coins.
You're very very knowledgeable.

Yeah, still baby steps for me. The crypto world is amazing! I've only taken interest late april, maybe why I feel that the market is overly exciting, seeing BTC rise from about $1200 to where it is now. And ETH was at $88!
Mind-blowing.
At first, whenever I see the market go bloody red, I get the urge to buy buy buy! Crypto-shopaholic at its finest lol. Now I'm limiting the funds invested, not going beyond what I can afford to lose (a very unlikely case).
As it is I've made an about 5x on my initial investments, waiting for my one big 1000x within the next couple of years I think.

Awesome! :D

Personally, as a trader (right now), I always try to keep some of my portfolio as USD, sitting on an exchange. At this moment, I've actually cashed out around 50%...as it looks to me like it could be nearing the end of this bubble for a while. And to me, end of bubble probably means around a 50% drop at least in the market unfortunately :( If you don't have too much invested, then that's fine....but if you have way too much of your net worth in it, then it's not so good!

And whenever I think to myself wow I've made x times...then that's the time I start to get worried and think about selling!! Be 'Greedy when people are fearful and fearful when people are greedy', as the saying goes :)

You're a wealth of knowledge in terms of crypto-trading. That is one challenge I foresee for my self actually, how to know WHEN to opt out. This helps a lot be fearful when people are greedy.

I hope you don't stop with a single post, I can see you'd be of great help a lot of crypto-toddlers like me.

I remember that! I bought my first eth at $92 haha, I'm as fresh as you are

Yay! Well hello there @parker.hammer! I can't remember how much I bought ETH for, for the Aragon ico I think that was May 17, but it definitely wasn't at $350 lol.

We came in at an exciting crypto-era!

Omg i just noticed. YOUR SINGLE UPVOTE IS more than what I make on some posts I make! Thank you thank you! (Insert jaw-drop image lol).

Someone asked for an upvote, so I thought I should give all the replies some upvote out of fairness :). And just because it was my first post too!

But, yeah, I think I crazily converted way too much BTC/ETH to STEEM ( but still I want more...hehe!)

Actually, I will look for a post of yours and give you a 100% vote (not worth as much as it was a few days ago unfortunately, but still worth something :)
)

trading crypto drains you, absolute focus is required

I would buy with your help 😏 If you know what I mean 😎

Hehe.. have an upvote I guess :)

Yeah !! I'm in loss these days !!
Literally I'm very upset !
I know god will help me to recover from this

Sorry to hear.

When something goes up massively and really quickly, I find it's pretty much always guaranteed it will retrace 50% at least, once its reached the highest point it's going to get for a while. I was in bitcoin when it dropped from $1000 to $200 in two years. But then years later it hit $3000.
It took a lot of time and expereience for me to learn to trade better.

My suggestion would be either approach (1) dollar cost average, or (2) actively trade. But if you actively trade, you need to know what you're doing or you can even lose money during a massive bull market .

I read a story of someone who had around $150k made from trading over 2 years, but then decided to short DASH when it was still increasing in value, and ended up losing pretty much all his capital when he got margin called.

Hope you can recover, and then make a profit, in the future.

I want someone to guide for somedays but yeah actively trading is beneficial.
Can you suggest me any coin today ? Or should I buy ethereum!!
I think ethereum is at hike today !

We've just had a huge bubble in crypto. At some point a down-turn will occur. I think there's a fair chance we're into that now (though of course I could be wrong). If so, it means easy money will be very much harder to make :( If we are into a down turn then I personally won't be thinking much about buying in the near future (other than some icos possibly). I would basically wait until it looks like either the down-turn has ended, or we get another crash which would provide a quick opportunity to make money on the bounce-back.

Regarding which coins to buy I have no idea. Also much more difficult since the poloniex trollbox is no longer around! Maybe there are other troll-boxes or you could scan all the various forums :)

you can help me the same way you helped jwolf @xaero1

Only 'cause this was my first post ;)

oh yeah ,congrats with your first post :)

Thank you sir, may I have another?

Thank you so much!

solid comment lol

Excellent message, you have a point, I hope you also help me with a vote.

haha that's right! Buy low sell high! The market always comes back :) Funny meme.

Yes, it always comes back! ...... until it doesn't :)

There is gonna be blood on the streets and you need to be buying! Claim what's yours! Gather what's yours! The mice will be bleeding. It will seperate the mice from the men, the pits from the pudles. Go and gather back your grounds, show your flag, put your flag in the ground. Send the re-inforcements out there and put in the buy orders! Green Green Green it's all greeeeen!!!! Followed and Upvoted my Brother, Let's boooom to the mooon

Wow, that comment can't be bettered :D

My friend mucho gusto forthe upvote! You seem to be the re-inforcements troops ! Claim what's yours!

I got some at 219 and some ltc at 35

I bought at $220 too, and was very nevious when it kept going lower! who know's where it will end up though :/

I am taking a few off the table here. its almost time for bed.

I have done so too :)

I bought at $260, I should've waited more. Damn. Haha. <3

hahahahahah funny meme in these hard times

Yeah, funny/scary depending on how much crypto you have as a proportion of your net wealth! :/

ethercrash is coming. I think ether will be equal to ripple.

its was 5 ripple just the other day so you are not far off

haha...funny

bitcoin is on sale too! :)

It is. But I'm waiting for possibly more blood on streets for that ;) Perhaps $1500 even .. there's something about the 50% level I think that people are relactant to sell below (like 'well I've already lost half, so I'm not getting very good deal by selling now') :)

1.5 would def be a sweet spot to add some more :)

Noooo Dave Chapelle.... forget about that Ether!

Better get yourself a nice dosis of STRATIS!

https://steemit.com/cryptocurreny/@valderrama/forget-about-ethereum

Haha I know. It's definitely the buyers market right now! to bad I have to drive 200 miles to a btc atm to get any to trade :( .. I do have.5 btc I will grab a few to get in on EOS cheaper!!

Not a bad idea

I didn't get any ETH but got more BTC today on the dip. HodL : ) I love dave.

i bought @xaero1 but it went down further so I will practice my patience again LOL.

lol very good and no unfortunately I did not

lol lovely thx x

This recent drop in the cryptos :)))

Real deal :) Crypto supermarket is crazy atm :D everything same as Black friday :) cheers

going back to 400$ and then straight to the moon :)

Sounds a bit like 'moon talk' to me :)

You can call it how you want it, but one thing is for sure- in a couple of days theres gonna be flash or i like to call it "To the moon and never back"

Oh yes my man! Oh yes :D Yesterday was such a great day... Did not understand most oft them crying :D

Lol.... well, bounces after crashes aren't quite as good as a steady 1000% gain uptrend :) The problem with bounces is they can turn out to be of the 'dead cat' variety! (No idea which type this one is.. :/ )

Jeah ofcourse, there you are right bro. But for some people its interested to buy in very smart. They maybe dont hope for buying the dead cat but they hope to get some snapper, after bunch of people lost their money. Well, i believe the longtime will be with us. The Force will be with us ;)

Yes, in the long term the trend seems to be up. Just I have experience of the two years when BTC (slowly) lost 80% of its value! A bubble isn't bubble unless tanks at some point :)

Well, i hope you learned from this two years ;) told me everything is possible short, but nice in longterm, see you later!

Cheers :)

Oh, what i forget to say, Steemit was great choice, too. But there is the fcking disabling on poloniex, nobody knows everyone. Guess i should be happy im in bittrex :D Steemit ftw!

It's seems Poloniex have just re-enabled it!! I need to power up some more steem :D. (Yes, I think I'm crazy... I should not be powering up during the possible start of a bear market ... but screw it I'm thinking :) )

Oh okay, nice to hear. Guess many people will be happy. Dude, i think it's no problem powering up. Think this plattform has some huge potential, and we will reach much bigger waters. Just my opinion ;) Well, i wanted to go sleep before 3 hours :D Finally im out.

Check out my blog if you like ;) Some Rap, Poem, Writing, Crypto and other stuff to think about

can you believe it crashed down to 10 cents last week? does that mean some people actually had open orders that were waiting to be filled around $1 and they got filled? insaaane

Yes, but only on GDAX. I read that someone apparently made $7mil, by happening to have really low open buy orders!! Nice money if you get can it :)

absolutely incredible. I believe it. If they had an order hanging out at $1/coin, that would be a $28k investment, selling it at $250 ea for $7 mil. wowzers.

awesome

Ok, thanks :)

Started following you, great posts!

Thank you :)

yestarday was crazy day , me and my friend looking for few buys , and then we realize ,omg ,its already morning ,need to rest also :D

I seem to be finding most days in crypto are a bit crazy, so never a break :/

Actually, I rely on Saturday as the one day when things seem less likely to crash (people buying on Saturday and sell Sunday around lunch time UTC) :D
.... That was all until last weekend when we had the mega crash (If you were unfortunate/fortunate enough to be using GDAX)!

yeah ,man . many people gone crazy , also me and my friend were crazy about all this haha :D im knowing crypto only 4weeks ,but im already into this so badly . damn :D

Yeah, it's all good! (Until it takes over and destroys your life :P )

i know it , chasin that money , it could make it only worse , but we should be focused , and everything will be great :)

Is it right time to buy now or the market may slide down further?

My guess Is that it's going to go either sideways or slightly downwards for a while. Have a look at https://cryptowat.ch/bitfinex/ethusd/1d and https://cryptowat.ch/bitfinex/ethusd/3d and switch on the exponential moving average and the MACD indicators.

On the 1 day chart, it looks like we're just right now getting an EMA cross-over in the negative direction (bad!), and on the 3 day chart, it looks like the MACD is about to go red (not good!)

With theses indicators it could still go sideways rather than down, but I personally think the potential for upside is not so good right now. I.e., the downside potential could be more than the upside potential.
If the chart looks like it's curving down and smells like it's curving down, then quite likely it might go down!

Anyway, I try to follow some sort of system. So, if the 1day EMA does cross in the negative direction, and/or the 3Day MACD goes red, then my plan is not to buy back in until either of these things reverse back.
Having said that, if I see signs it keeps bouncing off the current support and doesn't go down, then I may be looking to buy back in anyway!

This is not investment advise, etc.!

I think during such crash one should not think for short term gains they should see it a buying opportunity for medium to long term. Thank you for the information. I am following you.

Actually, having said all what I said in the previous comment, I think there's still a chance it could go a bit higher than where it is now. If we take take the recent top as $412 and the recent low as $204, and calc the mid-point between these, we get $308. A bounce-back can often retrace 50% of the drop, so I wouldn't be hugely surprised if the bounce could get somewhere close to $308. But I'm not sure how much money I'd put on this scenario!

Which is another way of saying that i may have changed my mind slightly :/

Short term (next hour): probably up
Medium term: side-ways.

Or perhaps I just have no idea!

i like your post
awesomeawesome meme @xaero1

Cheers again!

i think right now is good for me but funds taking to long to settle!

Hope you are well xaero!

u great @xaero1

A few days ago u liked my post..
why did you cancel vote my post ??

Sorry, but no point adding off-topic comments to these old TA threads as I'm not responding to them! You can try reposting on my 'upvote or not upvote' thread, but there's only so many replies I can respond to.

Cancel your vote...don't remember that🤔

Wooowww
This is a surprising answer...

oh! very nice chance to buy

Haha bro, just a small update. If you bought in the dropdown 36 hours ago, you allready did some good buy in. Im holy happy about, seems there are some good decisions i made. Could i ask you in which coins you are invested in?

Im looking forward to continue diversificate my portfolio, so still looking for new opportunitys. I am, maybe you allready registered, some really active person, so it would be awesome to stay connected about this. ;)

I generally prefer to hold tokens where there is a potential reward for the user holding them (e.g. REP) rather the mined currency types (e.g., BTC, XMR) because with theses they effectively tax you instead of paying a dividend (the 'tax' is the inflation which is required to pay for the mining which can be very high). So, my holdings are mostly of the former category, whereas BTC and ETH (until it switches to Proof of stake) I mostly just trade.

Here's a list of most of my main holdings right now: STEEM, PPY, ETH, LTC, BTS, XTZ, EOS, GNT, REP, GNO, DGD, BNT, EDG, ICN, MLN, TKN, ICOO, OBITS, GBYTE :)

Definitely, bought more ether at 220! It's already back up to 300.

OMG! I know you can say this about a lot of coins but I remember when I had what I thought was just a small amount of ether. I had 11 and they were worth like $12 and I sold them...I recently learned to always hold...bah! Even if it seems small...Following you now! :) Sorry my upvote is not worth as much as yours yet but upvoted! Happy Steem!

Hey thanks. Yeah, unless you have large amounts of money invested dollar-cost-averaging can be a good strategy. So, you don't need to worry about sell -just hold - and keep buying more stuff at regular intervals (if building a position is what you want to do). And buying more/extra during a dip/bottom/crash can fit well with this strategy!

Oh... just saw your blog - looks really cool. I will definitely be following! :).
I can't upvote this comment now but I'm pretty sure I'll be upvoting some of your posts :D

I was not that happy at all :( How many do you get my friend?

Sometimes stupid decisions really hurt. Bought eth at 80$, sold eth at 190$ earlyer, bought in again at 270$ and then i did not sell and had no opportunity to buy in again. Sorry for 2 comments, just failed over here

Hi Xaero1 ! I'm new here. trying to do some promotion. So feel free to check my first music video, freshly posted :).

->My First Open Mic <-.

Thanks you for reading !

or those lucky people that had pending fill orders when it crashed down to ten cents!! imagine having a pending order sitting there at just a few bucks and it gets filled?!

C'est la vie, innit :)

No im f*ckin missed it. I hope that there will be another crash ! So i can buy them for a low price

No, i just started so invest 2 days ago:(. But the course was okay

I read a post that ether will reach $800. Is it good to trade in ether at this moment?

Well, you really need to look at the chart and decide for yourself, e.g:
https://cryptowat.ch/gdax/ethusd

Yes, it might reach $800, but it might not - how can anyone know this for sure? ;)

Personally, I think it could go much higher but only when proof of stake becomes closer, because the problem is that until then it has mining and high inflation which means it needs loads more people buying every week rather than selling just to support the current price.

In my case i have currently sold most of the ethereum I had, and don't plan to buy back until i see a clear 'bottom' formed on chart, which I expect to be lower than where it is now. But this is not advice - you will have to make your on mind up :)

I just posted for one of my favourite steemer and dedicated the post to him
