Best way to backpack Europe

in #europe7 years ago (edited)

Are you ready for travel?
No, I still waiting to make more money online.

How long you think you are going to live?
Forever!

Sure, BTC is limited by numbers as you are. Go travel before your life sequence ends!

. . .

Dear readers, I will introduce my self before I start to write Best way to backpack Europe.

I am the owner of the hostel in Croatia. Have witnessed many events at my hostel and other hostels, based on these events, I created the screenplay. Maybe in the future posts, I will tell more about my writings. I have plenty of free time to be on the computer so I am digital nomad from time to time too. And I hate when I am ready to pack the almighty backpack and head to travel but are still wondering what is the best, and preferably the cheapest way to do it.

. . .

Booking an airplane ticket

You are online experts, maybe this information is not a big deal with you. But it is good to start from somewhere. You need to be expired to move on. The human mind is programmable and is programmable by what it gets by 6 senses.

'First and foremost to have in mind when searching and booking an airplane ticket is to book early but not too early, to be flexible with travel dates as a difference in a day can cost you paying hundreds of dollars more and to look for budget carriers. Although in America budget carriers are not so common to come by, there is still some hope. American travelers might be happy to hear about super cheap flights that will be heading to destinations in Ireland and Scotland as early as this June on the new fuel-efficient Boeing 737 MAX. In order to keep costs down, those flights will be leaving from secondary airports on the East Coast including Providence’s T.F. Green Airport and Stewart Airport.'

My tip and trick will be using Skyscanner, choosing option whole month. With this option, you can pick cheapest days. You can also try with the private browser. Prices are dynamical by the location. Changing location can help to get a cheaper offer.

. . .

Once in Europe, use and search deals off budget airlines such as Ryanair and Wizz Air. To cut down on your transport expenses, you can also use Europe’s railway network where student discounts might come in handy as well as to be a holder of Eurail and Interrail railway passes also offering a Eurail Roaming SIM Card to keep your calls back home affordable. To find and book buses on your European adventure you can use Flix bus. Those who want to go even cheaper can always hitchhike, but if you do not want to do it alone, get connected with other hitchhikers in Europe via facebook group Hitchhiking Europe. Also, in some European countries, you have a network of people who have an extra empty seat in their car and if you are willing to share the cost of transportation or sometimes just to keep drivers company, you can use that option as the cheaper alternative of traveling while making new friends on the road. A popular version of the site is Bla Bla Car and you can find service in many European countries.

. . .

Finding and Booking an accommodation

Hostels are by far the cheapest accommodation you can book and find on your travels. Hostelworld.com, Booking.com or just use Google maps.

Can you pay by BTC? No really. Hostel owners preferred cash. Basically, you need a credit card for authorization, later you pay in cash. I know you want to skip paying a fee. It is hard. Some hostels ask cash, and you need to go to ATM, take cash and pay the fee. Booking.com will charge your card with the full amount and again you must pay the fee. No way you can skip pay fee.

. . .

If you still want to go cheaper, then, by all means, use sites such as Workaway and Worldpackers where in an exchange for a few hours of work and volunteering (helping on permaculture projects, cooking, cleaning, helping with social media, making a video etc.) you can get free accommodation and food. Keep in your mind this is good practice for you. Every rich man will tell you to invest in properties. In this way, you can learn how to manage the house.

. . .

Give me a chance to start one more time by saying how I do not feel sorry for one penny spent on travels. The thing is, with travels, the consciousness and comfort zone expands. All that means better insight and longer, more perceptive life. Life is a trip anyway.

It is good to read and inform yourself before you make a move, but honestly, at some point, you just pack that bag and go. I forgot to say what kind of the pack and what to put inside. The answer is minimalistic! Go with the flow or plan ahead, the only thing that matters is that you go. Do not be bothered of traveling alone, nor sorry that your friends can’t or won’t go with you. You are the one that needs to extinguish the fire of ego, go through some lessons in order to attain new tools to help you navigate through life more conscious, grateful and appreciative of the world surrounding you. Never approach travel in a manner to avoid a certain place only because you heard or read a bad review. That is only somebody else’s perspective. Art for an example abounds with perspectives. You are the one that can always contribute to every place you visit and situation. You can make it better. Especially places that are off the beaten track instead of the usual, overly touristy exploited places. In the last case you are bored, Install app Tinder. Tinder I do not recommend much, many online groups are better to meet people.

. . .

The best start of every travel adventure is to check if you will need a visa and what is the process of getting it. This is the most important thing not to mess around with and therefore the most important thing to start with.

For an example, once you are in Europe you have to have in mind the Schengen area. There is a limit to the time that you can stay in Schengen area (most EU countries), and in the countries outside of the Schengen area. So, if your visa to Schengen area expired, you can spend some time in countries outside of Schengen areas such as Croatia, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and then come back inside the Schengen area. Working permits are unfortunately a little bit complicated to attain.

. . .

So, you already have a visa and a ticket. Now is time for packing! Take as less as possible, and the smaller the bag, the better. Trust me, a person feels better in old wardrobe than in a new one. Also, no one has the time to notice your stylish new wardrobe. All you have to do is just to feel comfortable in whatever you are wearing.

A general rule is to always carry a passport when you are in new town, but in some places, a copy is enough, especially since travels and parties you experience on travels can be pretty wild. In any case, do have a copy of your passport in case your passport gets stolen or you lose it. It will make your life much easier. Next, electricity converters. You can buy them before the travel or on your travels. Once at the airport get inside a mobile or kiosk shop and buy a monthly package that includes internet access and sim card. Have one smart device that can operate on every mobile net. Before setting off, you also make sure that you have enough money on your main phonecard, make sure roaming option is on, especially if you are a business person. Have an extra battery or two, since batteries do get vacated quickly. Flying itself is easy. First, you check in, then boarding process, luggage control, walking forward to your gate and airplane. The airplane travel can be quite interesting and fun too. In the case of longer flights, you will be in airbuses where you have TV too. If you have to change flights and you have to wait long before the next flight, you can leave the airport and explore the city before going back to the airport in time for the flight.

An important measure of precaution is to also have two bank cards. One you always carry with yourself, while the other you keep in your room. So, if you lose one, or it gets stolen, you have another one as a backup. Unfortunately, money is the number 1 thing to have when problems arise. The other alternative is a friend or some member of your family that you can call and they can send you money via Western Union. This data always carry with you written down on paper. Do not carry cash inside your pants. Give your self a freedom with using ATM.

. . .

To be continued… I am joking!

Party cities are Barcelona, Berlin, Belgrade, Amsterdam, and Budapest. Each of this city has an epic hostel. Summer holiday with beach party scenes is from May to October. Do not go to Europe in other periods. Too cold and useless!

. . .

One of better ways to experience the Croatian coast partying life is definitely by booking one of the ‘partying’ hostels and getting on board one of their pub crawl programs. With them, you will not only be more than well acquainted with dalmatian islands and all major coastal towns but also, to some of you more importantly, with the local partying scene.

Hvar

Known as the jet-setting & partying island, but also as the island of lavender, Hvar is an hour of a ride by catamaran or ferry. Check Jadrolinija.hr for timetables. As Hvar profilated as the partying island, two most famed partying spots are Carpe Diem and Hoola Hoola Beach Bar. Those who are interested in nature and beaches will also not fall short of spots such as Pakleni islands reached by regular water taxi from Hvar waterfront or beaches such as Dubovica, Lucisca or sandy beach Grebisce. Foodie spots: Many! Book accommodation at Green Lizzard Hostel, Orange hostel, Hvar Out and many more.

Korcula

The rumors with some scientific backup have it that world’s most famed and somewhat notorious traveler Marco Polo was born here. Island named by Greeks after a beautiful nymph Korkyra is as mysterious as Marco Polo’s travels and beloved by many tourists and guests who keep returning many times after the first, initial visit The island is reached by ferry or catamaran from Split or Hvar or by a ferry from Peljesac peninsula (beautiful 15 minutes long ride). Make Korcula and Dragan’s Den hostel your base for at least 4 or 5 days where you will reserve time just for yourself to chill&explore the island and nearby spots such as National park Mljet, enjoy emerald jewels in form of numerous secluded bays and sandy beaches such as Przina bay and Bilin Zal. Food wise, Korcula’s main promenade around the Old Town is filled with top class restaurants competing who will make the next best dish. If in search for outstanding Mediterranean cuisine on your Dalmatian route, then Korcula definitely ranks very high! And do not be fooled. Korčula has its big partying moments too! Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday’s are all about partying in Korcula in venues such as Boogie Jungle Club and Dos Locos as well as in other numerous bars with live music programs.

Still, when thinking of the best dates to come and party at the Dalmatian coast, think of ULTRA EUROPE FESTIVAL IN SPLIT 14-16 July 2018.

Plitvice Lakes
