RE: Exchange Transfer Report: 11/12/2017 to 11/18/2017

in #exchangereport7 years ago (edited)

without official answers people will make up their own explanations.

Oh! Oh! (hand up first)

Can I make my own explanation?

Tostitos was created and funded by steemit2 on Nov 12, 2017

Now it's well known that Tostitos is a brand name owned by chip manufacturer Frito-Lay and with the recent posts by steemitblog about Steemit, Inc. protecting it's own Brand Name, I highly doubt they would encourage other brand names being used for transfers.

They're also fully aware that this type of large transfer would be picked up by those watching the chain, so it's not really all that "hidden".

THINK: You transfer almost a million dollars of STEEM this way. Under a protected brand name. Why, or for what reason. WELL.....

NOW YOU WANT THE REAL ANSWER?

Look a little more closely at Frito-Lay's CMO Ram Krishan in this 2015 blog interview with him:

http://adage.com/article/digital/a-top-frito-lay-marketer-digital-trends/297536/

Seriously. Take 5 minutes to read that interview.

Frito-Lay is very much interested into trending online platforms (steemit could be included in that)...

Let's see what happens. If I'm wrong, it doesn't matter. But I just got chills when I read that interview.

We're going to see some big companies do this.... and not only when they are willing to "buy in". So if steemit can fund one in a partership promotional deal of some sort. Well... we'll see.

Come by my blog. Today seems to be the day everyone is talking about marketing (myself included).

Sort:

Uhhh... more chills....

Frito-Lay HQ is in Texas

Steemit, Inc. apparently just moved their HQ to Texas according to this post and this proof in this post

Now tell me I'm not on to something.

You're not on to something.

maybe steemit.inc closed a deal for "tostitos 4 ever"
the steemit employees have an unlimited supply for ever for just the one of sum of 1.000.000 dollar
who knows if @ned is a big chips fan?

Great detective work! However, why would Tostitos cash out straight away if they were interested in a partnership or the technology? If they just wanted the cash, why wouldn't Steemit cash out and send it to them in USD?

Another (cynical) explanation. A Steemit admin wanted to cash out some dollars for funding some sort of project. Whoever was doing it was creating the account, eating some tostitos, and couldn't think of a good username at the time?

When you transfer $1 million dollars, I'd like to think it would be important enough that you wouldn't be eating a bag of tostitos and couldn't think of a better name. :)

That type of transfer is fairly large I'd say.

Why wouldn't steemit cash out? Who says it is being cashed out. If one million STEEM hit the market in one day the price would have skydived already.

At this point, it's too early to tell what's happening.. but eventually we'll all know. :)

Hah! Nice. It's as good a theory as any, I guess.

And the technology of today and tomorrow offers a level of interaction with consumers we never imagined -- from geo-targeting to 24/7 connectivity to content consumption across multiple platforms. The convergence of these three conditions requires us to not just be marketers, but marketing technologists.

Certainly sounds like something they might be interested in.

...educate us on new platforms...

Hmm...

but more importantly I am looking for content creators. I want marketers that are able to drive content creation independently and not have to rely entirely on external subject-matter experts. This allows us to move more quickly and foster a culture of experimentation.

You don't say...

Quite an interesting find indeed, @intelliguy. Only slightly tin-foil hat-ish. :)

tin-foil hatish? I'm just using logic. :) I re-steemed your post. Hopefully can find this discussion that way even more.

Heheheh... I know, I just had to poke fun at it a little bit. :)

I did an audio recording segment about this whole topic and posted it today about the $1 million worth of steem and mentioned you in it:

https://steemit.com/steemit/@intelliguy/intelliguy-speaks-on-air-about-usd1-million-dollars-of-steem-transferred-and-what-it-may-mean

You're really working this theory, I see. Well done. :)

Its better than that... someone else gave me a solid theory that could also be true. The audio segment isn't too long. You'll hear the "OTHER" theory in the audio. :)
