I just woke up in a misty Brasil after only 4 hours sleep.
Didn't sleep to well.
I guess to much crypto emotions in one day for me yesterday to process in 1 night :)
I'm glad the blockchain is up and running again and even though it could have been prevented in the end everyone came together and it was fixed.
Which is what matters the most.
For me, it shows the resilience of this chain and the people building it.
What I personally like is how emotionally people get when the Steem blockchain shows a 'hiccup'.
The fact that people (myself included) can't go one day without this chain speaks volumes about it's success in my opinion. (I could easily go a day with Dash, Ethereum, Bitcoin).
And it was fun to go and checkout different communities and see how they handled things in the downtime on discord.
This will only increase in the future (the different communities, not the downtime...hopefully :) ).
Some more good news.
I did wakeup to a small pump in the Steem price! Not much but still a nice 20%. Let's see how that develops over the coming days.
At times, I do miss vlogging about Steem even though I still believe it's not necessary anymore.
But there is emotion in spoken words that I just can't translate to paper.
I think I will sneak one in from time to time :)
Anyway...
It's one of the last days in Brasil for me and Bianca.
It's been a very nice getaway from the usual things.
It was also the first long holiday I had since ever without the worry of any IT pending doom hanging over me (I used to have my own company for 10 years).
That freedom is hard to describe. All thanks to STEEM.

Hahahaha, exactly like me, until I eventually gave up and went to a marathon through a serie that I wanted to see long ago.
I’m glad to see that we’re both still addicted... lol!!! Remember those days when we were in that James Altucher Facebook Page????? I quit Facebook and don’t miss it at all...

What happened really? I don't get it? And so happy you found your freedom, enjoy it

@steemitblog just posted a blog explaining it all.
It was also the first long vacation I had since the last time, without the worry that there is a pending sentence pending from me (I had my own company for 10 years).
That freedom is difficult to describe. All thanks to STEEM.
Dear @exyle, I am very happy for all your achievements, I know that it has taken you a long time to get where you are, and how good it is now where you live to live good and wonderful things, but also has an effort and sacrifice and you and Bianca They have done, and today you are living of all that, many of us are grateful of STEEM, but I know that you are more because you have been a good administrator and knowledgeable of the subject as such. I'm glad that soon you return to your city to your country and that you have enjoyed these long vacations as you deserve.
I am so glad to read (your last post) that you are well and healthy!
Soon you will fly back home. I hope you have a nice and a safe flight and I think (reading your posts) that you and Bianca had a wonderful stay in Brazil. Something very valuable for both of you. Love, mom
Thanks, mom! We had a great time! See you soon.
I feel you brotha...it was hard for me even with that half day down the other day. Iam sure there are many like us here, Mark :)
I too have realized that I can go without even looking at bitcoin and other prices but my interaction with Steem is biw partnof my daily life as I feel that I miss building something if I am not engaging. Last night when everything got going I asked my if it was worth posting so late but I did as I have committed to consistency and there will always be challenges but tonremain consistent is important to demonstrate the dedication and engagement needed to grow the community.
Mark @exyle have a nice Trip back Home with Bianca @bkdbkd and will be looking forward to your posts from the backyard and The Green Egg...........
I don't think you will be able to resist a regular steemy update!! :0D
Haha! Me neither!
I hear what you are saying about impending IT doom. It seems like no matter where I go on vacation I always get at least one phone call with some emergency that needs to be taken care of. My wife wishes I could just leave my phone at home sometimes. It was pretty interesting to see people's reactions to the outage yesterday. I was actually able to get some real work done :)!
absolutely. nailed it. hope your not eating ALL THE MEAT there! :) stay healthy and on it man! :)
I woke up with the plan to make a post, when I found out it was down I didnt know what to do with myself.
Haha, it's part of my routine too!
Initially, I wasn't too crazy about Steemit because it seemed like nobody cared about content but I am really loving this blockchain now. I am so interested in the development of this blockchain and really like seeing different dapps and ideas being implemented where we have this awesome ecosystem running smoothly on one platform (STEEM). I am dying to get involved in it as well. I want to contribute as well but I am not sure what to do yet. I feel like I have a place on this blockchain to do something significant.
I was similar to @kaylinart in that I was constantly refreshing the page to see if it would start working again lol.
It seems you've worked consistently and diligently to have your freedom through steem. I am glad you've enjoyed a mostly relaxing and stressfree holiday for a change. Too bad the steem hiccup 'had' to happen just days before your holiday us over. A simple reminder of how nice it is to be away from the constant stress of IT doom pending! I will look forward to your steem vlogs! Especially that it will likely help us understand what happened yesterday. I feel I can trust your insight, and you often post in a timely way which is really appreciated. Enjoy your last bit of vacation!
I was using Steemit and after going through some posts one of my comments bugged and didn't get posted, so I started refreshing the page over and over again, an after a few times I got the message that the servers were down and I realised that HF20 could be a possible explanation.
Indeed we can no longer live without this platform, personally I left my computer and went to watch some movies/series, I just didn't know what to do on my computer... (I´m so used to read and post).
Can you expand on this a bit? Steem itself or just the price action?
Okay, I’ll admit it. I’m jealous.
I am now 100% convinced that it's more clear to people where steem is going and my vlogs have less value than before. But I miss it because...well...I love talking about Steem. I hope you will have your freedom soon.
Have a safe trip home! Glad you enjoyed your time in Brazil. It is nice not to have the responsibility of being on call 24/7...
Good to see that the steem chain is working.
Agreed... it was a long day without Steemit and Partiko

I wasn't that bothered by Steemit's downtime as I was out all day.
The biggest hassle was when I sat down yesterday evening to buy some Steem via Blocktrades and couldn't. That was at 0.71c. Now look at it!
I shall be waiting to see if it comes back down again. 😊
it was an anxious period until I found out what was happening
Very anxious!
haha yeah I like your way of thinking had a lot of oh no steemit is down moments yesterday.
No pending IT doom yeah it's nice to fully relax sometimes and not have to stay sober enough to fix things :p!
4 hours how did you wake up eh its hard for me to wakeup in just 4 hours sleep btw and yes you are right cryptos made you wake up ...
haha yeahh
Yes, go on - sneak in a vlog. We miss them!
I logged in almost as soon as it came back up. I could not agree more. Steemit is addictive...but in a good way
It did feel like a veey long day. My wife and I are full time Steemit users, and didn't realize how active we sere until yesterday haha. I'm glad to hear that you get to relax, now that you aren't managing a company.
Have a safe trip back to your home country @exyle!

It was scary and odd having Steemit down yesterday. It showed me how much I've made it a part of my day, for sure.
I for one am happy it is back. Crazy to think 6 months ago it wasn't a part of my life and now it is quite important.
Steem is a fun blockchain with a lot of possibilities, that's why people get emotionally when the Steem blockchain have technical problems. How many weeks have you been on brazil?
i agree with you totally, i myself was not at peace with myself but now i am ok, thanks for the hard work
Well just realised its value when steemit was not available for hours simply life without this now is not possible
