RE: Vlog 460: Unity is what I am hoping for.

OK.

If I may, would like to add a perspective that should make it clearer;

The governance of any code out there has the ability to edit the code.
So there is nothing to prevent anything on any blockchain.

However, to present what you call "a sad day" in its true light, it was a GRAND day for Steem!

Steem was the first blockchain with a governance that put the blockchain as priority #1 and not stake.

It is a "sad day" when tokens are the foundation for a blockchains existential security to be put into question.

As this manipulation of tokens was prevented, what you consider to be "a sad day" in the history of blockchains to date, Steem has set a precedence, in that a Witnesses first and foremost responsibility and duty is to ensure the existential security of the blockchain and not to be puppets of any of the tokens that may be using the blockchain as a ledger.

That my man, is HISTORY IN THE MAKING!

Likewise, all actions taken in ref. to the relevant stake were done so as per the code that Stinc itself approved back in 2016/2017 and with every other HF in which it was not removed.
Likewise the actions taken were exclusively done as per the terms and conditions that agreed upon when they were coded in.
Likewise the actions taken were 100% in coherence with the necessity to ensure the relevant stake, (which was not burned 4 years ago, when Ned abused it manipulate with the governance) is utilized as per the agreed upon terms.

SO THAT IS THE GRANDEST OF DAYS IN THE HISTORY OF BLOCKCHAIN.

Hope this view of things helps put a smile on your face!

Cheers.

PS. I respect your individuality and right to the freedom of speech/expression and in no way wish for you to read this comment as me undermining your views. Simply wanted to share another view on the same topics that you mentioned and hopefully shed a bright light on something that you still see as being negative. We can change the future my man, Steem has definitely proven that its governance has its priorities straight.

Sort:

Jack, I really enjoy your positivity here and it's a cool way to see things.

Don't worry I have no problem with anyone undermining my views (even though it was clearly not your intention here).

My views are my own and I share them as I have done for years. Ownership is something that is very dear to me, although I am also learning now that with DPOS things are (now) different.

I hope you agree with this

My hope is that this matter is quickly cleared up and settled in the swiftest and best way possible for all parties involved.

What do Australians drink when they want to celebrate something propper? Snake blood? Kangeroo sweat? Crocodile semen? or just some good old Beer :)

I can't wait for this matter to be behind us and get the best results for all parties involved. Looking forward to the 6th.

Us older blokes after a hard days work enjoy nothing more than a cold Vic Bitter

Victoria Bitter - For a hard-earned thirst.

I can order that here.

Cost 2,80 euro or 4,38 AUD for a bottle. Not the cheapest but must be worth it.

Better than Fosters, in fact, even that pi** called Corona is better than Fosters!

Cheers mate, glad you didn't take anything I said the wrong way. We are creating history here as far as blockchain tech and the crypto scene go.

The implication of governance over stake is that we are fundamentally a political system with stake based voting. Not a decentralized system.

Our "State/Country" is the blockchain.

Our "Constitution" is the code.

Our "Nation" are all of us Steemians.

So, the parallel can be presented in that way, as the responsibilities that a countries and nations governance has to uphold and protect the constitution, are comparable to that of Witnesses and our role in the Steem ecosystem.

Not identical by no means, but definitely comparable as far as responsibilities and duties go.
