This is my first post on Steemit. I joined primarily because I believe in blockchain technology. I witnessed the financial crisis first-hand working on Wall Street in 2009. Big banks are so tough to trust after those trying times. The Blockchain was born out of that mistrust of big banks via Satoshi Nakamoto's white paper.
I also witnessed Facebook's parabolic rise to prominence while in school. Facebook went from being an obscure social media site only college kids used to becoming a publicly traded company within a decade.
Steemit is the perfect marriage between social media and blockchain technology. I think within 3 years this obscure social media blockchain experiment (for lack of a better term) will explode on the scene once people like celebrities realize that they can make serious money using this platform. Steemit will be like a revenue generator unlike the Twitter's and Facebook's of the social media universe.
Mark my words: Steemit is the next Facebook.
I agree. If the steemit devs can bring out a sexier user interface this will be huge.
