Decentralizing the centralized?
Maybe close Facebook and start all over again and create a new decentralized one.
Mark probably has seen how fast Steemit is growing. It defiantly pay's to pay your users. Wont be long and my social media addiction is going to buy me a lambo.

Great sum-up as always! Wonder which coin will Facebook pick as first or whether they go with something of their own. Needless to say, FaceMoon...
One obvious use case would be tipping. They could use BTC for this, but I don't think they will. For one thing, tx fees are pretty high, and will probably stay that way for a bit. For another, does Mark really want to pump the Winklevai's bags?
Imagine adding $1 in FB (FACEBUCKS!) to your "Happy Birthday" friend messages? $0.05 tips on cool pictures.
Then:
-Pay-per-click content?
-Affiliated merchants/advertisers? (10% off our new sneakers if you pay with Facebucks?)
Thanks for the video overviewing what Mark has planned for 2018. I think that Facebook will study, then slowly shift towards decentralisation. I do not see Facebook having their own SMT in the best future, not before they start to shift towards decentralisation. I think that the key difference between companies is that large, worldwide companies such as Facebook will use the blockchain for certain aspects of their businesses while waiting for the markets to settle a bit and for the future of cryptocurrencies to become more concrete on a mass adoption level.
I think that this is a good thing, because it will allow Steemit to grow to a user base large enough to seriously compete with Facebook by the time it is ready to go full blown decentralised, if it does!

It wont be long until the web is fully crypo and decentralized. It would be a lot cheaper for FaceBook if they had their users supporting the network. just think of how much a data center that can support billions of users has to coast. Cheers to the internet of everything. what ever coin FaceBook chooses will defiantly be going to the moon!
