These are the ways to recognize Fake News on Facebook

in #facebook7 years ago

These rounds are from social media and millions of people around the world use Twitter, Facebook and messaging platform Whatsapp. First, where we rely on traditional media like news and TV for news, now there is a growing reliance on Twitter and Facebook. But not necessarily what is said and written on social media is all true. There are frequent false news on social media, and sometimes their results prove horrible. For the past quite a long time, fake news has been seen on social giants Facebook, and these stories have nothing to do with the truth. Facebook is trying to stop such news from its side and try to identify them to the user.

Many times, when users open their newsfeed, tips on how to find fake news are found on top. Facebook has launched several such initiatives which prevent it from spreading misinformation. Facebook has written like this, "We want to stop Facebook from spreading misinformation. Learn about the things we are working on. We want to stop these news from spreading. Learn about these tips here. "Many times, you see news reports related to technology and mobile in your newsfeepers, which contain misleading facts and the information written in the headline and the inside are different. Since we are a technology website, we tell you about the tips given by Facebook that will help you to easily identify any fake news.

Be aware of the headline: In the fake news, headlists are given mostly with capital letters and an exclamation mark so that readers can attract them. If you see headlines looking at their claims, do not trust them because they can be fake.

Observe the URL: A URL address that looks like fake or some other URL can be a fake sign. Many bogus news news websites mislead a bit by altering real URLs. You can do this by going to the certified URL site to compare real and fake URLs.

Check the source: Make sure that the news is written by a good source on which you believe and which is known to give the right news. If the news is written by a source that is not aware of it, then go to their "About" section and get more information about them.

See Unusual Formatting: Most misinformation websites contain spelling mistakes and incorrect spelling. Apart from this, the layout remains peculiar. If you get any indication of this, be careful.

Focus on pictures: In fake news, photos and videos are often posted which have been tampered with. Many times the pictures can be real but there is no relation to their story. You can find out the information about pictures or videos by finding out what their source is.

Check the date: There may be a timeline in a fake news story which does not make sense. Or it may be that the date has been changed.

Find the proof: Find out about the source of the story written in the name of the author, whether he is right or not. If you do not find the right evidence about the source or there is no author's name in the news then this is a sign of a fake news.

See other news: If you find that a news has not been covered by any other news source, then it can be a sign that the news is fake. If any news has been reported by many sources, then the claim to be true is stronger.

Story or joke ?: It sometimes happens that it is difficult to differentiate between satire or joke and fake news. Therefore it is important to note that the source is not known for the jokes or parody related things. And the news has not been written in such a way that it has been presented only with the intention of joke.

The deliberately fabricated false stories: Think carefully about what you are reading and before sharing it make sure that it is worth relying on.
