i read Snowdens tweet earlier this week and it really packed quite the punch. here was my retweet and response:
Snowden dropping truth bombs about the inherent evils of social media platforms' mechanisms of monetization allows for a discourse where the impact outweighs the irony of the post itself.
its so true though, and i think part of the reason why people are so casual about it is - it doesnt even feel like theres a way to prevent or stop it. the only way is to have never participated in these platforms at all. i have severly cut back on what i put on facebook and other Social Media 1. because im trying to limit what im giving them and 2. it provides little to no benefit for me.
and 3. nobody is doing anything about it! the government surely doesnt care. politicians - yeah right. its completely unethical and also terrifying to think what companies and governments know about our daily lives and habits.
