Goodbye Facebook, Hello Steemit!

It is well past the time to leave facebook (with fringe benefits like data collection, spying and a world of mindnumb people), and embrace steemit.

I have been blogging and adding content to the internet through Facebook, Google+, YouTube, Twitter and my own website with other venues for a number of years...  but to what end?

I have a base of "Friends" and"Likes", but there is no value to it.  As an example the second I would post a story that took hours to research and blog, someone would "Like" it. There is no way they read it, they just pushed a mindless button, emicon (or whatever the hey they are called), or share it without even knowing what is in it.  At least here on Steemit, if they mindlessly "Like" something... you gain from it, so I welcome them here as opposed to shaking my head in wonder over there.  In the end all you end up doing is giving and giving and giving to a community... but with no return, not inspiring to say the least.

Now with Steemit, there is something special, as with any new innovation comes the early adopters... these are the sharper minds, the inquisitive, the creative and those escaping the programmed mainstream world.

And as a society here on Steemit, people can help you as you seek to help others... wow what a concept.

Thanks to all that are making this happen.
