One Yeti's Perspective #281: Loving God For..When?

in #faith6 years ago

This morning I woke up to some great comments on my content. One comment mentioned the long term destination of salvation.

I think that heaven is a place or location. What it means to be there or go there, I do not know. There is a difference between heaven and new Jerusalem. But, I think there is more.

Living by the teachings of Jesus, and believing that He is who He says He is, we would see the kingdom of God now. Not that we are simply storing up treasures in heaven, but seeing God's true creation now. We would leave our wicked ways and follow Him. It is hard to hear the term wicked applied to our lives, but we can turn on the TV and see it happening

It is for each of us to work out our salvation. This is a life long practice. Be well.

All of us desire something in life @freedompoint some desires are good (helpful) and other desires are bad (harmful).

And it's the harmful desires of mankind that makes us wicked, as a group or individually.

I personally don't think eternal life is the number one thing we should desire, especially if it means that other people will be destined for eternal torment.

The best, non-wicked desire to have is the desire for everyone and everything, everywhere, to be free from suffering, and at all times - all other desires become wicked if it becomes more important than this.

Right on. That is a great view. I appreciate your input. It the book of John it talks about Jesus and judgement, and even lays out what the judgement is...darkness. Thst would line up with what you said about harmful...the question would be who could or how would anyone be able to measure helpful or harmful..outside of extreme cases of each. Amazing.

I have noticed that a person's strongest desire, consciously and unconsciously dictates most of what they do.

So as for myself, I am more concerned with centering on that particular desire I mentioned as opposed to solely relying on my personal judgement.

Having said that, I don't think it's possible to be completely harmless as a human being. Even when we're walking on the street or in the park enjoying nature, we're potentially harming the insect life that we don't even notice. So I think it is mostly about being less harmful as opposed to achieving a state of perfection where not a single person or thing is harmed through our actions, thoughts or words.

Thank you for discussing this with me @freedompoint.

Absolutely! I love deep thoughts and dialogues. Many people want to debate and argue, but i want to just hear others points of view.

Thank you for listening to me by reading my comments @freedompoint. It makes viewing your posts a lot more enjoyable since I feel like we are having a conversation about your ideas and mine.

I imagine it will be a lot harder for you to read all the comments in the future, but while it is managable, I'm thankful for your ability to see things from my perspective.

P.S. I started following you after @steeveapp recommended some of your posts. I think you will eventually be getting more followers through AI-powered apps like @steeveapp in the future.

Aww...i am glad you are here. I curate manually and love interacting.

What is a @steeveapp?

Thanks @freedompoint it's another platform like @partiko but is web-based and uses artificial intelligence to recommend other posts and users.

P.S. I am using this account to reply since my @chrisrice account ran out of RC's. I am powering up and purchasing Steem every month but I prioritize @emaferice and @zaclucasrice's accounts.
