Last Sunday, June 24, was the feast or Nativity of St. John the Baptist. The cousin of Jesus, the greatest evangelizer. He who leapt for joy at the womb of his mother as Mary who was also pregnant with Jesus at that time, visited them.
We learn from this event that St. John's reaction in the womb was his first expression as a prophet, he was happy because of the saviour Jesus who was to come.
St. john also baptized Christ and formed the sacrament for the first time.
Today we reflect on his life and mission to spread the word of God. To celebrate life and his concepcion.
We also look at our own mission to make this world a better place, that when we say, come let us go to Jesus, obey his command and love one another, we become like John the baptizer in drawing people to the shepherd spreading good news.
Our priest, Rev. Fr. Lariosa mentioned this. It is one of their sayings amongst themselves. Let us be selfless and decrease ourselves, turn away from sin. So that "HE MUST INCREASE". We raise Jesus and honor him.
I made a picture quote to remember the very nice quote and memorable sermon that day.
I hope this helps anyone with their christian/ Catholic journey ❤️
Blessed Day to everyone!
To have any part of Jesus Christ you need to repent of your sins. Accept what Jesus did on the cross to pay for those sins. And to accept Jesus as your Lord.
We're saved by faith alone in Christ alone guided by the Bible alone.
If you accept Jesus as your savior and you follow God with your whole heart then God will change you. It's not all done through self effort.
