Let's talk Life: Life is NOT on your hand
I was about to sleep and somehow ran into this article: High school basketball player dies after collapsing on court at AAU event Saturday night. According to the article, "James Hampton, a Class of 2019 prospect out of Liberty Heights Athletic Institute in Charlotte, North Carolina, collapsed on the basketball court during a Nike Elite Youth Basketball League game while playing for AAU program Team United and was pronounced dead shortly thereafter Saturday night. He was 17 years old."
I am sure James Hampton, like other student-athletes around the World, wanting to be a star one day with their God-given talent. I am sure he had a lot of dreams and plans with his life, and I am sure he worked extremely hard so that he can achieve his life-long dream one day - however, things ended prematurely, way too prematurely.
As much as we want to control and take the driver seat in our lives, there is just something we cannot control and we tend to not plan for that: death. As much as we don't want to admit, everybody needs to experience that. We all know life is limited and time is limited, but somehow we tend to live as if we will for sure be here on this earth forever. In Psalm 90, the psalmist says we should learn how to number our days so that we can gain a heart of wisdom:
Our days may come to seventy years,
or eighty, if our strength endures;
yet the best of them are but trouble and sorrow,
for they quickly pass, and we fly away.
If only we knew the power of your anger!
Your wrath is as great as the fear that is your due.
Teach us to number our days,
that we may gain a heart of wisdom.
and the extremely-wise King Solomon once said on Proverbs 9:10:
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom,
and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.
Dear Friends, it is not too late to make a decision. There will always be tomorrow, but tomorrow doesn't need to or may not have me and/or you.
Cheers!

(Joshua 24:15)
Amen!
I work in a hospital, even not as frontline as a nurse, I arrange some doctor's apponitments with patients and sometimes interview them. Last week, one of the patient's case manager called and said the patient won't come for his follow-up appointment on the next day because he had just passed away. It's very sad but I believe that God is letting him rest peacefully. And we should all treasure the time that God is giving us in this amazing journey on earth and continue to walk with Him.
Yes yes! and more importantly! Don't forget to count the blessings that our Lord has given us!
