Family Time

My son has been doing rock climbing at school, and suggested that we all go together as a family. So last night we went to a local rock climbing gym and got a membership. We spent a few hours there climbing and learning what we were doing. My wife took this first shot of our son. He really enjoys is and I think he is going to be really good at it.

I quickly realized that I needed to get on a diet because rock climbing is a pretty good workout. By the end of the night, my hands were on fire and my back and forearms are pretty sore today.

My wife had a great time as well. I am sure she is pretty sore today too. All of us are feeling it after the workout last night.

It was awesome to see my daughter climb up to the top and go up over the ledge when she made it to the top. She was pretty nervous as she was climbing the first time but then she started getting more comfortable and more confident in her abilities.

Hanging out at the climbing gym was a great way to spend the night with my family. We are going to be going again pretty soon. I was going to go this afternoon once the kids got off school, but both the kids are pretty sore. My son was climbing during school today and his hands are pretty torn up.

Yesterday was my birthday and it was a great way to spend the day. Tomorrow I will be celebrating it by having a party with my niece. It is going to be an epic party with go karts, mini golf, laser tag, and a butt load of video games.

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my post and pictures. I appreciate it.

Sounds like fun family time! I used to dabble in a bit of climbing when I worked in a climbing store years ago :) I remember the main tip I learned was to use your legs! Don’t try to pull yourself up with your arm strength but push up with your leg strength :) Memory making is always golden, have fun :)

This is awesome, what a great thing to do with the whole family! Your daughter looks super proud and fierce - love that feeling of accomplishment that forcing past a difficult incline gives you in climbing. She looks like a warrior :)

Raaah! Looks fun, used to do that with my boys.
