Just some random thoughts as I sit here this morning. It is freezing cold outside. Thank God for nice warm homes and central heat. My heart goes out for those who are in the cold. Poor animals who have not shelter suffer so badly.
Those of you who have seen some of my older posts know my dad was admitted to Hospice care a few days back. His health continued to take a downward spiral. I called all the siblings in. Each one of them were able to come visit and be with Daddy again for a while. He was aware of their visits even as he drifted in and out of consciousness. With our home being filled with visitors in and out, I have not been able to make posts, physically or emotionally.
We had a real blessing on the 25th. Daddy became a great-great grandfather with the birth of his first great-great grandson. When I told him, he got a big smile on his face. He understood what I said. That was Monday. On Wednesday, the 27th, Dad went to sleep around 5 PM, and never woke up again. We lost him at 7:44 PM on the 29th. For 50 Plus hours he was unresponsive to our voices and touches.
It has taken me this long to even want to approach the keyboard. One sister and her husband went with me to make the arrangements, and they left for their home right after the meeting with the funeral directors. I will have several days before family starts to drift in again for services to he held on Jan. 6. Posts may be hit and miss until I adjust to this new reality. New reality, New Year. Blessings to all.
(((Hugs))) Sending prayers to you all during this time.
We will all be here when you have time...
Hi weetree. I just now found your post. Thank you for your kind words.
I'm so glad you were able to be with him. I'm so sorry he's not around for you to talk to. May you have the peace of God that passes understanding in your hearts. ((((Big Hugs))))
Hi curly. Yes, all the siblings were able to come in and be with Dad in his last days. It was a blessing for all of us, in spite of the sad circumstances. Then we were all here again for the funeral and family time after that. Little by little they all drifted back home and now my darling and I are busy trying to reorganize the house and tie up the loose business ends. We will probably take a month to get it done.
I am very sorry for your loss. :( my heartfelt condolences
Thanks, zepp. Mr. and I are doing well. Hope your family are also happy and healthy. I will be watching for more of your posts soon.
I was so afraid this was the reason behind your absence. My heart goes out to you and your family. What an ironic juxtaposition of your Dad passing just as a new life in your family arrives. It's quite an object lesson in the circle of life. May God bless you all in this New Year. My thoughts are with you tonight.
Hi enchanted. Thank you for your kind words. The great great grandson being born was so ironic. My husband and I pondered over that, too. The mother and grandmother live in Alaska, so it has been many years since they have been able to visit Dad (we live in Oklahoma). So, another twist of fate occurred when I did a You Tube video on Daddy's favorite dessert. He knew I was taping, but he wanted to know how I was progressing, and he rolled through the kitchen in his wheelchair. When the Alaska families saw their Grandpa and Great Grandpa, they said it brought tears to their eyes. Now through the magic of the internet, they can see him any time they want to. They got a kick out of Daddy calling banana pudding "gooden pudden".

Enjoyed this tremendously. Saved the link. I plan to try this -- 'cause I love to cook. Also, I plan to show how professional your presentation is to a friend who needs your good example. Thank you for sharing this. You managed several good deeds with it all in one post. Have a lovely day.
My goodness, I certainly will have a good day with such a glowing endorsement of the video. So glad you liked it.
Have you had any comments on the white dove story? My daughter was here last weekend for my dad's funeral and I told her I had told you the story.

thanks, healthy. My husband and I are doing well. Staying busy, getting the house back in order from all the traffic in and out. It has been a whirlwind, and still lots of loose ends to tie up.
We are still thinking about you dear! Hopefully you are healthy and well. Maybe just not feeling up to the blogging at the moment!
Wishing you the very best! Take care,
Peace
