YESTERDAY WE WENT GEOCACHING. FOR THOSE THAT DON'T KNOW, IT'S GOING AROUND A FINDING HIDDEN ITEMS. AND THEN ONCE YOU FIND THEM YOU ARE ABLE TO ADD YOUR NAME TO THE PAPER SAYING YOU FOUND THE ITEM.
IT REALLY IS A LOT OF FUN AND A GREAT WAY TO SPEND TIME ON AN ADVENTURE WITH YOUR FAMILY. WE REALLY ENJOYED IT, AND WILL BE DOING IT MORE IN THE FUTURE.
SO WE STARTED OUT. WE PLUGGED THE FIRST COORDINATES INTO THE GPS AND AWAY WE WENT. IT LED US TO A LIGHT POLE IN A WAL-MART PARKING LOT.
IT ONLY TOOK EVAN A SECOND TO FIGURE OUT WHERE THIS ONE WAS HIDING.
Can you see the hidden container in the picture?
HERE'S A CLOSER LOOK AT THIS WONDEROUS CONTAINER....AND THE YOUNG MAN WHO FOUND IT.
AFTER OPENING THE SECRET CONTAINER, WE REMOVE THE LIST OF NAMES OF ALL THE OTHER PEOPLE WHO HAVE PREVIOUSLY FOUND THIS TRINKET AND ADD OUR NAMES.
WE RETURN THIS PRIZE TO ITS ORIGINAL LOCATION AND TAKE OFF FOR THE NEXT TREASURE.
AFTER A SHORT DRIVE, OUR GPS LEADS US TO AN OLD PATCH OF WOODS JUST OUTSIDE OF TOWN. WE DITCH THE TRUCK, AND TAKE OFF ON FOOT. AFTER ENTERING THE WOODS WE ARE AMAZED TO SEE, THERE'S ACTUALLY A CEMETARY IN THIS GROWN UP PATCH OF FOREST.
AS YOU CAN SEE, IT HAS BEEN NEGLECTED FOR QUITE SOME TIME. AND AFTER A COUPLE MINUTES EXAMINING THESE OLD TOMBSTINES, WE WERE CONTINUED OUR SEARCH FOR OUR NEXT HIDDEN TREASURE. IT WAS GETTING DARK SO WE NEEDED TO HURRY.
THIS OME WAS ALSO FOUND PRETTY QUICKLY BY MR. EAGLE EYES EVAN. IT WAS ATTACHED TO THE BOTTOM OF THE FENCE SURROUNDING THE CEMETARY.
WE RUSHED TO OPEN IT AND ADD OUR NAMES, TRYING TO BEAT THE SETTING SUN.
EVAN ACCIDENTALLY BROKE THE PIECE THAT HELD IT TO THE FENCE. SO WE WROTE OUR NAMES AND I FIXED IT. WE REATTACHED IT AND HURRIED OUT OF THE WODS BACK TO THE TRUCK.
WHAT AN EXCITING ADVENTURE, AND ONE I WOULD RECOMMEND TO ALL OF YOU GREAT PEOPLE TO GIVE A TRY. HAVE ANY OF YOU WONDERFUL STEEMIANS EVER DONE ANYTGING LIKE THIS? IF SO LET ME KNOW DOWN BELOW.
hi evan!!:):)
Hi. I'm happy to see you. Are you good?
That was Evan, but now me. Thanks for stopping in...and especially for saying hi to him. He's had a rough go of it here lately. I hope all is going well for you and that you are in high spirits. We send you all our love. Thank you.

You are welcome John! :)
Interesting people!! :)
I was busy sketching Evan's mum. I noticed that he looks more like her and she's younger in my sketch. I'll post tomorrow when I'm done.
@johndoer123 This GEOCACHING game is very much funny. During My school time we played it many times. It's always funny to play this game.
I'm glad to hear that you have tried it, and had a good time. If you can you should get a couple friends together and do it again.
I've heard a little bit about geocaching, it seems to be fairly widespread across the world with apps you can get for your phone that record online who has found the locations of the caches.... I wonder if there would be an adaptation for the steem blockchain here....
It would be really cool if there were a way to adapt it to Steemit. Then we could all play together somehow.
nice one sir, the best way of strengthen your bond into your family. Love will be greater if you found yourseleves enjoying together. take care into your wonderful family.
Agreed. We enjoyed it so much that we're going to do it again today. Should be a lot more fun.
Never heard of this game old friend but sure sounds like fun. I think i like it already and look at Evan; he sure had a great time and you both look very happy. You should do it more often in the future like you said. Looks like Evan was the man of the day because he found all the items and you were just there to write your name on the list 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Yes we did have a great time..enough so that that is where we're headed today. More geocaching. And yes, he is really great at figuring out where the items are hidden. Thanks for stopping in. How is your week going friend?
Good friend...
Cool .. I never knew such a thing took place.
I knew about it, but had never tried it. It really is good fun...and a great distraction for Evan. You should try it, if it's available near you.
Can I call it old school family fun? People don't do that anymore. They have become smartphone slaves AKA zombies - take away their smartphone and see them squirm and not know what to do or say.
Glat to see this family fun in you.
I found my first geocache by accident when I was solo climbing the Sierras. I got to the top of a summit, sat down and was like huh, what's this and found a box with a list full of names and random objects. Was SO confused lmao.
The same happened to me a few years ago...long before I knew such a thing existed. I found a small container at a cemetary and thought, who are these people and why did they leave this bottle here with all these autographs? 😁
It seems like a cemetery is a rather nefarious place to leave a geocache. I mean as a place of interest i can see why: but how many people have started digging around graves trying to find something that they missed above ground =p
