Today I was going to tell you about how I was going to treat myself for the food reactions I discovered after my water fast.
But it was hot as anything here today, and late in the afternoon, I went downstairs, where it’s slightly cooler, to read and relax for a bit. Next thing I knew I was asleep! So I ended up with no time to write all about allergy treatments.
And then I heard from my sister that her Steemit account had come through, so instead I’m going to tell you a little about us.
I am the oldest of four children and was nearly 11 when my baby sister was born. So naturally, she was my baby and I carried her around with me, took her for walks in her pram, changed her if mum was out and fed her.
Isn’t she cute? I could share lots of cute pics from when she was young but she might never forgive me, so this one will do.
We shared a bedroom for several years when she was young. I remember that often in the night, she would want to get into my bed. She would then happily drift off to sleep, and then I’d be wide awake and squished in a corner! But I could never say no.
In later years, we flatted together when she first left school and had lots of fun going clubbing together and having parties with our flatmates.
As she says in her post, she has spent most of her life in farming areas, far away from me. But we are still close and can talk for hours on the phone.
All these decades later, I’m nearly 60 and my baby sister is a grandmother of two, and she’s still the cute one. This is a terrible photo of me, but I think she looks lovely.
Please pop on over to her first post at https://steemit.com/introduceyourself/@andysantics48/hi-steemit-i-finally-got-here and give her a warm Steemit welcome. She will be blogging about farming and homesteading, gardening and preserving, her weight loss journey, what it’s been like living as a single woman in a farming community, and any other antics that have amused her.
Thanks for reading

Postingan yang bagus @kiwidep! Satu keluarga lagi bertambah, salam saya untuk kalian semua dan semoga bahagia...
Terima kasih @fakrol. Ya, bagus untuk memiliki lebih banyak keluarga di sini.
Oh see look so cute...welcome to steemit @anysantics48...i will going to follow her.
Thanks @dilkash, nice to see you here again.
Another Kiwi is always welcome. Will pop over and welcome her, and might as well follow as well.
Thanks Len! She is half an hour out of Dannevirke, so after @kiwiscanfly, you're her next closest Steemian.
A nice part of the country, I would be the oldest, nearest, keeping an eye out for her.
Huge welcome to your sister!! ✨
What food allergies did you find after your fast?
I reacted to almonds and peaches (which are in the same botanical family) with fatigue. And to dairy (even ghee) with a phlegmy throat. But hopefully after the energy work, I'll be able to eat them again.
Interesting i never knew that. I've had to cut out all sulfur foods as i have an allergy due to the heavy metals. Well, it's more that the sulfur aggrivates the metal issue. So at the moment i am really interested in everyones allergies lol.
How is the detox going?
Starting soon i had to cut the sulfur/thiols out first to fingers crossed make the ride smoother. Energy work sounds nice.
Just greeted and followed her @kiwideb!
I was happy to see your post popped up on my feed. Do you still sing as a hobby? : )
Yes, I do! We haven't been over the holidays but choir starts up again next week, and we already have some performances planned. Thanks for welcoming her.
Absolutely! Would be nice following her progress. Enjoy the upcoming time with the choir then! Would be happy if I have a chance to listen tо hear something from your rehearsals.
I'd love to be able to share rehearsals, but we're not allowed to. But we can sometimes share recordings of our performances, so hopefully I'll be able to do that.
Thats a lovely post about your sister, you can see how much you love her and its a lovely photograph of you both :)
Aw, thanks darl. You're always so kind.
You are welcome, i am following her so will keep an eye out for her posts. My daughter joined a while ago @jlou she finds it hard but she keeps trying :)
I was 8 when the first of my two baby sisters was born...I was less than thrilled to be babysitting when I was that young but I guess it kept me out of trouble later in life. And we are great friends as adults, which is wonderful. Off to check out your sisters blog!
At 8, the maternal instinct probably hasn't quite kicked in yet. Even at 11, it's probably only just starting. I've never wanted my own children, and my theory is that I used up all my maternal instinct when I was young, lol.
That's exactly what I tell people when they ask why I don't have/want kids! Been there, done that. haha
Maybe we used up our fledging supplies of maternal instinct before they could multiply.
Welcome baby sister @andysantics48 .
Thanks Mike!
Welcome baby Sister!! Just to let you know I am the biggest, along with my husband, Lord of the Rings Fans and have seen so much of your beautiful country throughout the movies and all of the behind the scenes videos....I am in love!! Cheers!!
@sift666 and I are keen to go for a weekend away sometime this year, and visit Hobbiton, which is where some of the filming was done. Apparently it's awesome!
Hi kiwi.. I welcome her first then came to your post.. You both are brave ladies.. I forget to tell her that i am also overw8.. Haha..
I am afraid i left a long comment there.. There are few words for you also.. Words from my heart.. I planed to write a post about you as you deserve.. God bless you and your little sister.. Waiting for some good stuff from her for weight loss..
Thanks. Maybe you can help support each other in your journeys.
You are welcome.. Yeah sure we will be..
Thanks for mentioning that Andrea has arrived... ;)
😄😇😄
She seems to be settling right in. Thanks for going over and saying hello.
Finally! Heading over there in a bit. The dynamic between the two of you seems so awesome. Great tale you shared there, Deb! My younger sister and I didn't get along when we were younger, but that's because our age difference is so much closer. The 11-year gap did the trick, I feel. You're mature enough to care for her like she was your own, and it gave you the opportunity to have a leg-up into becoming a nurturer.
Also, cool coincidence. My younger sister is also named Andrea haha!
I had similar experiences to you with the older of my two brothers. Too close in age, and he was a cheeky bugger!
Ha, there we go with another commonality.
It's amazing how many commonalities people have even with the difference in generation and location!
Yipee for family on Steemit! It seems that all we do is evangelise sometimes!
Nothing wrong with a bit of evangelising! Unless it's in the form of going round, and knocking on strangers doors when they're trying to have their dinner, watch a bit of TV or write a Steemit post.
Nice post and welcome to Steemit big sis. I'll pop over to her page now and say hello.
Great, thanks!
Hi @kiwideb and @@@andysantics48 (sorry, I couldn't find either of you on Discord to DM, so I hope you don't mind this post).
I've just taken on the roll of one of pennsif's guest-finders for his new radio show, and so I thought of you two; and I'm hoping you will both be interested in appearing this week as guests for a 15 minute spot?
You can read more about it here: https://steemit.com/mspwaves/@pennsif/msp-waves-radio-pennsif-s-alternative-lifestyle-show-three-guest-finders-join-the-team
He's also just posted a recording from his first show, in case you'd like to listen to check it out.
A great opportunity to plug how fab New Zealand is too, lol. ;)
Please let me know, thanking you kindly. <3
Hiya. Maybe a bit later I could, but this week I'm having trouble keeping up with everything, and won't even be doing a post tonight. And @andysantics48 is a bit shy about it.
I've kept meaning to ask you - where in NZ are you? (Unless you already told me and I forgot...)
That's cool, I'm sure it will be good to have you on any time you are ready. :)
I'm way down south, but I'm originally from the Waikato. :D
