This post will be a lot of pictures and it could just save a woman or a baby's life.
The first time my wife got pregnant we planned to have a home birth but after three days of labor I thought she was getting dehydrated so we decided to go the hospital.
Big mistake.
The hospital beings tried to tell us she was going to die if she didn't have certain drugs: drugs that would ensure she would not be able to breastfeed. She didn't have the drugs. She didn't die, of course. She happily breastfed our smart healthy girl.
I checked everything the medical people told us over our laptop as they told us, in real time and found about 75% of what they said was not true or contrary to manufacturers labeling.
We found that the hospital entities violated the patient bill of rights several times, trying to give wife and baby drugs we said no to. They got irritated with my wife trying to make decisions for her own body and her baby and told us:
If we believe something is in the best medical interest of the baby, we will not honor your choices.
I was like what? This is Merica. Well since then I learned its not Merica anymore especially on hospital property.
The hospital creatures even cited a legal precedent from some arbitrary court case asserting their legal power to do whatever they want. Well trained.
We asked to switch doctors. Denied. We began planning to move the child to another hospital. They did not receive the faxes or emails they needed. They told us the doors are magnetically locked and the baby will not leave the fifth floor until they say its okay.
After this and other experiences, I can only advise against ever visiting M-a-y o for anything. Oh and BTW, medical errors are the third leading cause of death in the USA. Goggle it.
Here's the kicker. I worked with some of those people. As an EMT I brought them patients. They didn't care.
We had only one nurse who seemed to care about human beings. She told my wife to take probiotics to heal the damage the hospital meds did to her.
So when my wife became pregnant again, we looked for mid wife services. We found an amazing grassroots business in a small town in southern Minnesota. I am so impressed with the birthing center as a service and a business that I had to share it on Steemit.
You made it thru all those boring words - heres the pictures.
Here are some scenic shots as we drive to an appointment at the birthing center.
After this beautiful drive, we arrived at the birthing center:
Shes Pregnant.
the door bell! Im guessing this house is from 1880? It's in great shape! very clean, beautiful and homey. Feeling relaxed in a home like atmosphere helps moms to relax. When moms relax, muscles stretch allowing labor to be shorter and birth to be less painful with less c sections.
this is our 3 year old outside - touching a horse pole. Yes I said horse pole as in tie your horse to it. Still there from the horse days. Crazy preppers!
Peeking in from the entry way....
Play area for children in clear view of the exam room makes it easy to make it a family event.
The midwives have been very professional and seem to be genuinely interested in a healthy happy mom - a very obvious contrast from the stressed shift working profit maximizing hospital workers.
The midwives have spent a lot of time just talking with mom, supporting her choices to eat the y way she chooses and encouraging her to supplement and exercise.
View into the reception room/office.
Big Momma on the table. She looks cool in all black. I just want to take that phone and throw it.
Side View:
Would you look at the size of that thing!!??
So after doing a diagnostic check on mom, blood pressure and feeling for the position of the baby, the midwives said she is doing well physically and fully supported her in choosing a mostly vegan diet. They did ask her to up her iron which she said really helped her feel better.
We then walked upstairs to see the actual birthing rooms.
I made a video, wanna see it?
So thats it. Im not posting videos of slime covered babies coming out of certain areas. no. forget it. But I will say there are way better options than hospitals for almost everything.
Even though we have a bit of a drive, its well worth it. And St Peter has a Natural Food Co op:
and a fortress playground:
and some stuff:
I hope you have gotten something good from this!

I gave this a big upvote. People don't even know how true this is. This kind of thing happens all the time. I work in an ICU. I see it all the time. Bravo for you by going against the grain. They will definitely put pressure on you.
@celsius100 thank you for the encouragement! I know its not an easy job working in that field and Im sure the decision makers put a lot of pressure on staff.
Thank you so much for your comment! It means a lot!
